Reef Aquarium 1300 GPH PowerheadsNov 12, 2009
By Jonny Campbell Had to return items because items did not perform as advertised. I used the items as a wavemaker and as the items alternated from on to off mode, the product chattered very loud and frequent which caused the live inhabitants to become very stressed.

Dangerous for fishDec 11, 2011
By Ivan Fedorchenko This product is dangerous for fish! It has big outlet hole (cross cup) and fish can enter in it. Yes and this is not very small fish! My Botia (12-13cm) has entered into the hole and after pump has been turned on - the fish was died... of course. We previously looked for fish in wave maker, but it was nearly invisible inside unit! Since that time, we VERY carefully check unit, and sometimes found small fish (before turning on), but one day we almost lost another small fish (Ancistrus). Only opening the unit can guarantee that no fish inside it. Of course - automatic power on, is not acceptable (with small-medium sized fish). I'll set mesh inside hole, but...
Sorry for my bad English, but I need to say this.
From side of performance - yes it very powerful and relatively quiet, it not make BIG noise (if properly set), but it make noise (equal of even slightly more than filter/airpump).
Terrible Quality, POOR PRODUCT. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!Apr 10, 2012
By SaltWater Reefer These powerheads are EXTREMELY LOW QUALITY, China made products and DO NOT WORK. Continuously falling apart in the tank, and stopped working completely within days. Customer service was terrible, and offered nothing for the JUNK product. All around very bad experience, and would NOT RECOMMEND product or company for anyone.
JUNK ! DO NOT PURCHASE!Apr 10, 2012
By M. Zaghari These are Made in CHINA and are a TERRIBLE quality. They were not working within days of setting up, and rather than blowing or creating movement in the aquarium, they were suctioning everything- and even got one of my Tangs. The company, Best Choice Products had TERRIBLE customer service, and would not even offer a refund or replacement. DO NOT BUY THESE, AND DO NOT BUY FROM BEST CHOICE PRODUCTS because they are NOT the best Choice. BUYER BEWARE
Worth itMar 24, 2012
By alexzobi I needed more flow in my saltwater tank, but didn't want to go out and spend $60 on a new powerhead. I figured I'd try it out and if they worked I'd be able to spread the word to friends in the hobby and if they didn't then I only wasted $20 and learned my lesson. The verdict...worth it.
Pros: -Quiet operation -Excellent flow -Fish don't show any signs of discomfort from vibration or noise inside the tank -A sixth the price of top name brands -Comes with TWO powerheads. I didn't even realize that until after I ordered.
Cons: -As stated in another review, the suction cups are NOT any good. I installed and watched for ten minutes, before heading to the couch. a minute later I turned around and the tank was a plume of sand as the powerhead had fell and was shooting straight at the sand bed. A DIY mod (magnet for me) is definitely necessary.
Overall, definitely worth the investment, as the only issue is suction cups and the problem can be solved for $5 total for both pumps. Thumbs up to savings.
