I've purchased many scoops over the years and none have lasted more than a year. The design has always been the same, just a different brand. This was excactly what I was looking for. Instead of a flat plastic body it has a tube with a metal rod going through it. Whenever I pick up poop I kind of twist the scooper back and forth to get the pop out of the grass and into the claws. This is hard on a week point near the top where the flat plastic turns into a "Y". Every scooper I've bought has broke in the same place. This scoop doesn't have that flaw. I'll admit that I've only had it a few months but as soon as I pulled it out of the box I knew it was what I was looking for. Best of all is that it's the cheapest one I've ever bought and works great!

I bought this to replace another different brand which the handle broke in less than a year. Although this was slightly more expensive, it is better made and the handle is heavy duty. Also the springs seem heavier. This one is also longer than my previous one, which makes for less bending over. So far this one is working great, which is fine for me and my two golden retrievers.

I recently purchased a German Shepherd puppy and was looking to buy a poop scooper to replace the shovel that I used to pick up the puppy's waste. It was while I was doing research into different poop scooper products that I stumbled across this one on Amazon. After reading the first two positive reviews, as there were only two at the time, I decided to buy this device from Rawhide Depot and see for myself how well it worked. Well, after a month of use, I can attest that the previous reviewers were right: this poop scooper is similar to many others in design, but longer, sturdier, and likely to last. It performs its job well, but there are still times I favor using the shovel instead, like when the puppy has diarrhea and it is scattered all over an area. However, on the average day, this poop scooper saves time and prevents too much grass from being picked up.
This poop scooper seems to handle varying weather conditions very well, but it is too early to confirm this. I shall try to remember to update this review in a few months or a year. Also, if it is worth mentioning, my puppy does not chase this poop scooper like she does the shovel.
Again, this is a simple, yet functional, device that is worth the price. I would recommend this to other canine owners.

I just used my Poop Scoop for the first time today and I love it! It is well made and works really well. I especially like the 32" height as I have a medical condition that is irritated by bending over. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I have been through a few of these claw type scoopers, and they work great for a while until something breaks, and you have to buy a new one. I saw another review on this one stating they were impressed with the construction, so I took a chance on what looked like a cheaper product. I was pleased when I open the box and checked it out. It is a much simplier design with a sturdy body that looks like it is going to hold up well. The claw piece seams to be constructed similarly to others I have tried only this one has much smaller teeth which grab more grass than ones with a set of large teeth on half. If I could change one thing, it would be larger teeth to allow some relief when picking poop in heavy grass. Also, I wish the spring was stronger, but it is about on par with other scoopers I have used.
