I don't ever write reviews, but this one seems necessary. Last summer I bought the New Earth collar. While wearing this collar, my dog was playing with another dog. That dogs tooth got stuck in the clasp, and the collar began choking my dog out, I thought she was going to pass out. I just thought it was a fluke accident, until this morning. Found that New Earth collar yesterday & put it on my dog. This morning my dogs were playing and the collar somehow got wrapped around the other dogs lower jaw & they were stuck, and once again, my dog was being choked out. I can only chalk it up to this collar, as it has NEVER happened with another collar. Thank god I was at home when both episodes happened, or I don't think my dog would have made it. Do Not Buy!!!!

Stick with nylon collars.Feb 24, 2011
By J. M. Kasunich I needed a new collar for my pup - he outgrew the one the shelter provided when I adopted him. I bought two of these - one for the pup and one for my adult dog.
I noticed right away that the new collars were a little stretchy compared to the old nylon ones. But they also seemed soft and comfortable, so I used them.
Today I got home and found that my pup managed to stretch his collar enough to get his teeth on it. The collar was in pieces on the floor. Fortunately he didn't choke himself or eat parts of it.
He's eight months old, and had a nylon collar for almost that entire time with no problems. He destroyed the soy collar in less than a week.
I'm going back to nylon.
