Each holds 80 grams of activated carbon derived from environmentally friendly bamboo, for much more odor absorbing power than the plastic mesh style filters. These Bamboo Charcoal filters help control litter box odor by absorbing the odors instead of covering them up with perfumes, which can aggravate allergies.These filters can be re-used for up to 6 months, with highest efficacy in the first 3 months. Simply place the filter in bright sunlight for a couple hours once every other week to recharge its odor absorbing capacity. For best results, filters should be replaced at least twice a year, but for best results, replace every 3 months.
