Have used their product before, first time buying it in colors. Works excellent. Very absorbent, good at controlling odors, doesn't leave those nasty urine traces like some other materials. I've used these primarily for hamsters and gerbils, and have had no problem. I line their cage with this material (only the new type of hamster cages that the bottom is enclosed; wire-free) and use it for their bedding and even fill the nests with this. They love being able to burrow in it, and dig themselves out very easily. Recommend 100%!

Carefresh litter is more expensive than regular litter, but it is worth it. We have two guinea pigs living in a 4'x4' cage and they can stink it up quite fast. I tried other litters, and it begins to smell like guinea pig after 3-4 days. With Carefresh, I can go 10-14 days before a cage change. The more you use in the cage, the longer you can wait between changes. Also, this product is compressed, so you get more than you expect per bag.
Suggested use: I always purchase the Ultra bedding in white. The catch with this product is that the colors are more expensive. We tried all white, but then at the first sign of poop, it looks dirty. What we do now is use 90% white and add 10% of a colored litter on the top layer. The white shows though the color, but when poop appears, there isn't such a stark contrast and it looks fine. There is also a natural color (think brown paper bag), but that one does not have as good odor control. It smells quickly. Also, buy the 50L or bigger bags if you have room to store it. You save a lot of $.
The only negative about this product is that it is dusty. I use my dust buster all over the cage during cage changes or give it a quick wipe with a dust rag to keep down the dust. However, I will put up with the dust for changing the cage less. Oh...and it is biodegradable!

I use this on top of the newspaper for my bunny. I use the grate over it so she doesn't push it out of the cage. I can go about 2 weeks without having to change it. She partially uses a litter box.

i used wood aspen bedding and it doesn't keep in the odor so the room smells horrible but now i use care fresh and it works the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i had a rabbit and thats when i used aspen now i have hamsters and i use care fresh and i smell nothing and the aspen is pretty rough and this bedding is very soft and gentle
its great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
