• Ready to mount to supplied mount/platform--narrow profile size of unit is 12x11x21inches tall with one of two supplied clear 2-cup extension installed as shown. Feeder needs minor assembly requiring only a small and medium Phillips tip screwdriver to save on box size (shipping), packaging and possible damage translating into higher consumer cost.
• Small 1/4" spherical/square kibbles like offered by Science Diet or other brands are recommended for very best performance. Please be aware that the feeder does not "count' kibbles, but tests have shown that an accuracy of +/- .1 to .2 ounce per portion has been achieved for every two cycles with recommended kibbles. Most other cat food kibbles will work very well, but with so many shapes/sizes of kibbles on the market, it is impossible to predict exact results. Although performance is guaranteed with recommended food as described, please be advised that due to variance of kibble sizes and shapes, 100% portion accuracy simply cannot be guaranteed for all feed cycles. An optianal slow-speed power adapter could also be purchsed later if needed to help with extremely small portions. 1/2" pyramid shaped kibbles are not recommended.

We purchased this feeder about two months ago so that we could leave our cats for a few days while traveling, and so that we could do a better job enforcing the diet we have them on. We kept an eye on it for a couple weeks before leaving the cats alone over Thanksgiving. By the time Thanksgiving rolled around, we didn't have the faintest doubt that the feeder could be trusted to do its thing reliably and without breaking (despite the cats' best attempts to destroy it). This feeder is industrial grade, plain and simple. Everything about it is heavy duty. If you want a feeder you can really trust, this is the one to get. I wouldn't totally trust any others on the market.
The more mischievous of our two cats figured out how to stick her paw in the machine and get a few more kernals out. Purchasing the accessory hood solved that problem, though. If you have a clever cat, you should just get the hood to begin with. I think it will come pre-installed that way, too, which is nice because you have to disassemble the machine to install it.
The feeder itself is simple and foolproof. The most complicated part of setting it up is programming the timer. You can choose whatever timer you want, though, so it is as simple or difficult as you make it.
I contacted the seller a couple times when I first placed the order, and when ordering the accessory hood later. The company is amazingly responsive -- like others have said, I even got a reply to an email on a weekend within an hour!
If you need a cat feeder, this is the one to get. It is more than worth the extra cost over other feeders.

I've had this cat feeder for 2 years now, and am satisfied with the purchase mostly due to it's simple design and the durability of the motor housing. but I do have a few criticisms that some buyers should take into account that may apply to their specific feeding needs, since I have dispensed hundreds of pounds of nearly a dozen different brands of kibble. kibble size matters a lot when dispensing food with this feeder. large 3/8-1/2" size kibble can get jammed pretty often in this feeder (even without the optional chute guard), while small 1/8-1/4" size kibble can spill out in uneven portions, or leak out when the feeder gets bumped by your cat.
I would not use this feeder with most of the >40% protein kibble suspended in peas or potato because they crumble and powder too easily, gumming up the nibs on the feed wheel (that grip and move the kibble down the chute) and thus require a weekly cleaning. so if you want to use this feeder with a high protein low carb kibble, look for one suspended in brown rice instead - that's what I do. stick with kibble as close to simple spheres as possible - silly shapes like Felidae H's may jam and come out a crummy mess.
the new floor stand is nice, but when combined with a high capacity drum - it gives the unit too high a center of gravity that your pets could knock over - so it may be best to stick to mounting the feeder on a post. if your cat eats too fast, you might want a flat plate - not the bowel, in order to scatter the dropping kibble a bit, so they can't grab up the food in a few gulps. after 2 years, I have other minor gripes about this feeder, but it's probably the only unit out there I'm confident will outlast my cats, so until some other feeder company sends me one for free to evaluate, I'll stick with this investment that helps keep my cats from over eating, and gives me some piece of mind while I'm not home.
just a suggesting to free full bowl feeders considering this product because your cat is getting fat; i set this feeder to dispense a small portion every 3 hours (so that's 8 times each day/nite cycle) in order to simulate free feeding, just with that all too critical portion control. always feed adult cats HALF of what the food bag says they need - so the food savings from using this feeder (and keeping my cats a healthy weight - thus avoiding the Vet bills) more than makes up for it's exorbitant upfront cost.

The Super Feeder has brought peace to my household. I purchased this exact kit directly from the manufacturer's website a few weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with it. It arrived in only a few days, and I was impressed right off the bat with the careful packaging. It's clear that the designer/manufacturer of this product pays attention to the details.
The Super Feeder is a sturdy, attractive setup. It's proven to be very reliable, and it holds plenty of food. I was a little intimidated by the initial setup, as I don't consider myself particularly handy. However, the instructions are very thorough and I had no trouble at all once I got started putting it together.
My two cats adjusted to their new magic food machine in short order. The one-year-old cat figured it out after just a couple of feedings. My ten-year-old cat got the picture after a few days, but he still bugs me and my husband sometimes for food. He's more set in his ways, but the begging behavior is tapering off. Before the Super Feeder, both cats were incredibly annoying for hours before mealtimes.
The Super Feeder has been such a wonderful relief. I was afraid I was going to have to pop for the astonishingly expensive Perfect Petfeeder ($500!) in order to get a reliable cat feeder. Nope! I heartily recommend the Super Feeder.

I just bought this feeder & I love it! It's easy to install, just make sure you read the directions thoroughly before getting started. The timer was a bit tricky, but when I emailed the owner for some help on a Sat night he emailed right away and helped me resolve the issue. Just make sure when you program the timer you leave it on Auto Off and reset the feeder before the first official feeding. My fat cat no longer wants anything to do with me =(

I absolutely love this feeder! My cats still love me, but now I love them more. This feeder is extremely adjustable. Use the feed gate and running time to set the amount of food (one knob sets the feed gate opening, another infinitely adjustable nob sets the 'run time'). You don't have to chose from inaccurate 'pre-sets'. The timer just activates it. I got the digital timer, and it is great. You can set up to 8 feed times (with this digital timer-more if you used an analog or different model timer), and run a drinkwell water dispenser off the same timer (2 outlet ports) and adjust it for one feeding at each time setting and let the water run for as long as you want at the same time(without it re-feeding). The battery backup keeps the program and the current time in case of a power outage, and continues with the schedule when it returns. Assembly is EASY-just watch the online video, it shows step by step how to do it--didn't take me over 30min and would have been shorter but for the beer :). This feeder is VERY well engineered and adaptable/adjustable. Mine came with the protector chute preinstalled. The customer service is UNPARALLELED. I understand they are designing a new bowl to be quiet, expanded, clean and to spill food away from the chute. In the meantime, I swapped the stainless steel (a good bowl) for a deep sloped ceramic bowl (looks like a cereal bowl) to spill food away from the chute, have room for 2 cats, and is quiet for night operation: yes, the cats still hear it!--but I sleep :) I'm feeding mine currently at 6 times a day to get their weight down. they are much calmer about food and don't pester me about it, yet are immediately present when the feeder activates. They have figured out very fast the timing on this and to hear the food drop. I haven't used the gallon adapter yet but am glad to have it for trips, etc. I also put the cord in a flexi plastic cord cover, since one of my cats is a 'chewer' and he hasn't gone for it yet. I have it timed so they never get too overly hungry, but I know they'll be in for one of the feedings at about the time when I close the cat door and keep them in for the night. I use the 'aspirin shape' pellets another reviewer complained about and I have no problems with the quantity dispensed. It just takes a little tweaking, and there is a little variance, but tweak it and it won't be much. I read many reviews of many feeders before biting the bullet on this one, and I am proud to say I did not make a mistake. I realized early on that if wasted my money on a different feeder that didn't work well or broke, I just threw that money away, or worse if I starved my cats. It's nice to know they're getting fed, not have to worry about the machine working, and not have to think about it, except to add food to the hopper every few days. All you have to do is firmly squeeze both sides of the hopper and the top comes off even with the screws in it, but my cat's can't do that to get it open. (you could secure it better, but this works well and I don't need tools to refill it). Only 1 phillips head screwdriver is needed to assemble this. It's really not hard (toss the directions, and watch the video). This feeder is very well built, and if you have issues, you can call or email and they will really work with you. More companies need to pay attention to this type of customer service. Well worth the money, the peace of mind, and the good nights sleep! (finally....no more wakeups at stupid hours. I should have bought this feeder years ago.)
