Fast, Safe and EffectiveFeb 28, 2009

I was skeptical about using a product like Chemiclean in my saltwater aquarium to deal with a red slime problem, but all other solutions including reduced lighting, increased flow and massive water changes had failed. It's performance was astounding, to say the least.
I followed the instructions precisely and underdosed the tank to be safe. I first siphoned as much of the red slime out as possible, increased water flow and aeration as directed, and removed carbon from my filter.
Within 48 hours, 80% of the red slime algae/cyanobacteria was gone, and the remainder cleared within another two days. My fish and inverts actually became more active and appeared healthier. As an added bonus, the oxidizing action of the Chemiclean cleaned up a good deal of organic solids, reduced regular green algae and made the water the clearest I have ever seen in any of my aquariums.
I am duly impressed and would recommend this product with careful usage.

Crashed my tankJan 12, 2011
By Todd This stuff crashed a high end tank. It stripped the live rock of bacteria which led to ammonia spike. I am an experienced reefer, and this was by far the worst decision I ever made for my tank. Let the dang cyano be, it doesn't kill stuff. I had manually removed most of it, but I wanted it all gone. I am now going to have to start filling buckets with dead acro's.

Garbage!Sep 13, 2010

This product is awful. It didn't work on my cyanobacteria, they just came back a few days after I used this and did a water change. It also killed an anemone in my tank and damaged some of my corals. Don't use this trash!
Medicine Show StuffApr 01, 2012

Don't work - simple as that. I called the manufacturer and the rep was extremely helpful. She comped (free sample) of their phosphate/nitrate resin. However, Chemiclean did not perform as advertised. For you folks who are asking "what is a medicine show?" 100 years or so a go, a guy would sell a bottle of stuff that would cure every ailment from A - Z. He usually put on a small show in front of his truck or horse drawn wagon.
