ugly, but effective.Aug 08, 2006

I bought some adorable puffer fish for my aquarium, but the little devils enjoy attacking other fish, so I had to either isolate them, or find them a new home. I saw this item and figured I'd give it a try. Easy to assemble and set up, but absolutely ugly in the aquarium. The side guards are an ugly black and really take away from the natural look of the aquarium. A solid piece of plexiglass with holes would have been preferable, but as a cheap quick fix, this works all right. Now the gourami and pleco can sleep soundly at night knowing their butts aren't being chewed on.

Nice dividerMar 18, 2011
By courtney I was very happy with this divider. I got it to seperate my prego guppie from the males. It was easy to install, arrived quickly and wasnt to very noticable in the tank. I recived the black-sided divider and really was worried that it would be ugly and really noticable, but it wasnt. You could see it, but didnt bring down the looks of the aquarium.

Not Elegant, but very Functional.Jul 19, 2008
By Ken M I purchased two of these. I have one 55 gallon aquarium, where two 'Jack Dempsey' cichlids decided to spawn. This device keeps the rest of the fish safe when the JDs are trying to chase them out of the tank. Peace is restored there.
I also have a 29 gallon Eclipse tank where I 'try' to raise any fry/feeders. I had a lot of 'Convict cichlid' young ones there and needed to make some safe space for the little J Dempseys. This worked well.
These things seem a bit flimsy, once you have them installed they hold their place well. If you want to use the metal clips, be advised that your normal top fixtures will not fit well over the clips
This is not an 'invisible' divider, I will try to post some pictures at my web site and provide a link here. My choice was, let fish kill each other, or have some peace (with a little ugliness). I chose peace.
Enjoy

Great divider!!!Nov 07, 2011
By ldoerr I bought this product to seporate my 2 male betta fish in a 10g aquarium. This product assembled in under 1 minute. My and my friends have bought just about every divider for our aquariums. This one is by far the very best one. Unlike the petsmart one where the pieces are not the right sizes, this ones pieces you can clearly tell are ment for it. I would highly recomend this product. I think that you should have 1 on hand at all times. You never know when you might need it.
The picture is not what the product looks like. I think that they just used the wrong pic for it. Defenitly worth the $.

Aquarium divider - needs to return to old styleJul 21, 2011

I own an older divider which uses a stiff plastic divider which stays in place much better. The screen on this unit wants to come out of the side supports and sets your fish back into the main tank. We spent the better part of two hours before finally getting the divider in place. I would certianly look for a divider with a stiffer center piece the next time. Perhaps someone knows the secret to holding the screen in place.
