Very pleased with DogPauseJun 13, 2010

I purchased the DogPause bowl and matching water bowl in January and have been very pleased with both. --- Using the DogPause bowl, has slowed my dog down when eating. Now, instead of keeping his nose/mouth shoved in his bowl and hoovering up his food, Charlie takes a bite of food from the bowl, lifts his head, and chews the food before swallowing and going back for more. After using the bowl for several months, I have also started to notice a change in the way he eats his dog treats... Unfortunately, when I first got the bowls, Charlie was just 7 months old. He thought they were toys and tried to chew through the side of the food bowl. It's made of pretty tough, durable plastic so he didn't have much success but he did manage to make a few little teeth marks, which do make the bowl hard to clean by hand. Fortunately, the DogPause bowl and matching water bowl are both dishwasher safe! Also, the bowls are both really cute (and stackable)! I have seen some other slow-eat dog bowls and in fact, almost purchased one, but I am glad I waited. I don't think I have seen any cuter than the DogPause. Finally, do be careful when filling up the water bowl from the sink. If the water hits the dog on the bottom of the bowl at the right angle, you may get splashed...

Best Slow Feeder I've usedMay 26, 2010

I've tried a couple "slow feeder" dog bowls for my hoovering Aja. The other bowls out there are made of pretty cheap plastic, but this bowl is made of really solid plastic that I can pop right in the dishwasher. Aja used to hork his food down in about 45 seconds. He now takes well over a minute and he hasn't thrown up since we've had this bowl.
I really recommend this bowl to anyone that has a fast eater they want to slow down. Great value for the $$$
PS My wife is glad we got the matching water bowl

DogPause improved my dog's eating habitsMay 18, 2010
By B. Lloyd I've been using DogPause with my dog Hank, a 75 lb Boxer, for well over a year now. It has definitely slowed down his eating and that's a very good thing. He still gets to it as fast as he possibly can, but it takes him about 2x as long to eat each meal now. That's a good thing - that dog used to be able to eat all his food in about 30-40 seconds. It takes him nearly 2 minutes now... And there's a lot less coughing and gagging during meal times. So - DogPause gets my vote.
For a dog who does not know when to take a breath when eatingOct 24, 2011
By Maggie Mae My little 8 lbs. Maltese is like a vacuum cleaning when she is near a food bowl. Many times she would make herself sick. This bowl was the answers to my prayers. Not the cutest bowl but works out well when you have a fast eater.
It really works!Jun 13, 2010
By kandw101 Our 10 year old mini schnauzer in her later years has turned into a "huffer" of her food. On ocassion after "huffing" her meal she would immediately throw it all up. Needless to say it wasn't pleasant for anyone. I found the DogPause on the internet and bought it about a year ago. In that time we've had no huffing problems. The bowl is made so it takes longer for her to eat. Great job DogPause, glad we found it!
