incredible customer serviceAug 03, 2011
By ctrent first off, these worked to slow down our boxer's eating and to a lesser extend our golden/lab mix. her nose made it a little easier
but after about a year, we went on vacation and while with the neighbors, the rim on one of the bowls cracked. i used it for a little bit and then went back to the pet store where i bought the bowls to get a new one when i noticed the label that they had a "lifetime guarantee."
i went to the website that night and emailed the company. the next morning the company asked me to send pictures. i did. the next day i got a response asking for my address and then the next day, ups showed up with a new bowl.
i can't say enough about the level of service i received

Pretty bowl- but....doesn't work...Jul 23, 2009

The bowl is sturdy and well-made... but the design does not slow my dog at all. She immediately learned to go around the bump in the center and eats faster than ever. I am going to try the other type of bowl with 3 prongs. I hope that it will work a bit more efficiently than this type. I would not recommend this bowl, it does not achieve it's goal of slowing a speed-eater.

Rim cracksFeb 05, 2010
By Roy Levow The problem described by "Moondrake" is not limited to high altitudes. I had a similar, though not so dramatic experience in South Florida (near sea level.) I had two of these bowls, size large. After about 6 months the rim of the first one split. The second split about 3 months later and then split in a second location about a month after that. The split creates a sharp edge that may be dangerous. It appears that the design/fabrication creates too much tension in the metal and that it eventually fatigues and cracks open. Not good!
The bowl didn't slow my Labradors eating much but it proved useful as a water bowl, reducing the amount of playing in the water.

By Dog Lover This product does exactly what it says. I am very pleased with it and would buy others of this in smallers sizes if needed.

Took a chance and bought it for dh, but it doesn't work for humansMay 17, 2012
By Portlander Every night dh eats dinner so fast he gets the hiccups. It makes me want to smash a skillet on his head and YES WE ARE IN THERAPY before you ask. It so totally rude how he inhales his food while I am still on my appetizer, and then he sits there and sighs loudly and hiccups and looks at the ceiling thoughtfully while I finish. I was desperate. So, when I saw this I figured - hey, it's worth a shot. Sadly, it apparently works far better for dogs, with their lack of fingers and their large snouts. I thought about pairing the bowl with a pair of handcuffs behind the back but dh seemed a little TOO interested in that idea if you know what I mean and currently I am so irritated with him and his damned hiccups I have no interest in that idea. So, short story: great for dogs, sucks for humans.
