However, a diet limited to meat alone could cause harmful nutritional imbalances. In recent years, due to the lack of availability of high-quality ferret foods on the market, many ferret owners have become attracted to feeding a homemade or raw diet which they believe approximates the evolutionary diet of a ferret. That is, until now. EVO Dry Ferret Food was created to supply a high protein, low carbohydrate formula that mimics the ingredients and nutritional profile of a raw diet. Features: Grain free for when extra carbs and grain intolerances are a concern High levels of protein from quality meat, poultry and fish Excellent palatability Skin and coat health High digestibility and decreased waste Energy and nutrient-dense Formulated with added antioxidant vitamins Fortified with vitamins and minerals Item Specifications: Size: 6.6lbs Ingredients: Turkey, Chicken Meal, Chicken, Herring Meal, Chicken Fat, Peas, Pea Fiber, Turkey Meal, Natural Flavors, Apples, Carrots, Cranberries, Herring Oil, Tomatoes, Pumpkin, Cottage Cheese, Alfalfa Sprouts, Dried Chicory Root, Taurine, DL-Methionine, Vitamins/Minerals, Direct-Fed Microbials Calorie Content: 4220 kcal/kg (130 g = 1 cup) 549 kcal/cup (4.58 oz = 1 cup) Crude Analysis: Crude Protein (min)...............................50% Crude Fat (min)....................................21% Crude Fiber (max).................................1.5% Moisture (max).....................................10% Linoleic Acid - Omega-6 Fatty Acid (min)...4% Carbohydrates NFE (max).......................8% Vitamin E (min).....................................300 IU/kg Vitamin C (min).....................................500 mg/kg Omega-3 Fatty Acids (min).....................0.4% Docosahexaenoic Acid (min)....................0.1% Total Microorganisms (min)......................90,000,000 CFU/lb | | | Product Details: | | | Package Weight:

Just AwesomeMay 25, 2011
By Sarah After doing a ton of research, this really is the best dry food you can feed your ferret! Both of our ferrets took right too it and it honestly cost me just as much to buy this as a bag of the other food we were getting at the pet store. It shipped super quickly and we recieved it in no time!
Cheaper in the grand scheme of thingsJan 09, 2012
By Marissa For almost 2 years I have been feeding my ferrets the walmart stuff because it appeared to be a good price but within the few months prior to deciding to switch brands I had started noticing my fuzzys were a bit sluggish and their fur was not as soft as it should have been. After doing extensive research I decided to try EVO. The ferrets have gotten 100% of their energy back and their fur is softer, thicker and shinier. Some other people state it made the ferret poop smell less but I have not noticed that change. The one thing I have noticed is since they are getting good food they are eating less, and eating less means the food lasts longer. After doing calculations, this bag (with 2 ferrets) is lasting about as long as 4-5 bags of that other stuff was, (that other stuff was $8.00 per bag) so I'm spending under $30 (after shipping) online for good food that makes them happy and healthy or $32-$40 for junk that makes them lazy...hmmm kinda a no brainer here. Their poop is a little runny with the new stuff but with any diet change it does take some time for their bodies to adjust, and it appears it is just one ferret who has not fully adjusted. Wish I could find a local pet store that carried it, but til I do I am more than happy to purchase here!!

By hannah this is defiantly one of the best and healthiest foods for ferrets i have 2 wonderful little ones and what a lot of people don't under stand is that ferrets are strict carnivores this is one of few foods that doesn't have vegetables in it highly recommended and my ferrets seem to like this food better than others we have tried :)
