Works like a charm!Nov 29, 2008
By D. Shanmuga This feeder was easy to assemble and to program. We use it to feed our new calves at the Hindu monastery on Kauai. We mounted it to a small table with the calf bucket under it. Three times a day it dispenses the Calf Manna. We don't have to think about it. The calf gets used to the timing and is waiting when the feeder goes on. We are thinking to use one to feed the Koi in the ponds.
shipping style needs improvementFeb 03, 2012
By Linda I have depended on this item for years and when it works, it is terrific. We could plan on a machine lasting a year and order another replacement ahead of time. But when it doesn't last... There is one metal part that breaks pretty consistently on nearly every machine, the one and only weld. Then there are problems that come up with the timer not working as it should. Then there are the loose broken parts inside the damaged shipping box that come into question. What I blame for many of the problems with the machine is the way it is packaged for shipment. Not so much the machine. It is all alone to shift and get smashed inside a paper box and gets broken enroute. That is not the fault of the customer who gets a broken machine that doesn't last like it is suppose to. So what happens? You spend your money and order another one sooner than you should have to. I contacted the company I bought the last one from and they replaced the bottom portion of the faulty machine but shipped it in yet another paper box with no styrofoam that would assure better shipment so the shipping box top had a hole smashed over the metal bar and the plastic base was broken. I was offered a return of $15. I paid hard earned money for a brand new machine that works, not two broken ones and a $15 refund offer. The machine does its job if it isn't already broken when you receive it.

Faulty timer causing the feeder to deliver over 5 lb of food into the pond in 24 hours killing all my Koi. I tested the unit and retested it and sometimes it would work and other times would not. I followed the steps carefully that warned how not to have the unit run non stop. Other reviews also showed that there was problems with the timer. I expected more from a $180 feeder. My family is devasted!
It broke after only three weeks.Jun 07, 2010
By Roydonde I was very excited to find this product. Now I would be able to leave town and not have to worry about whether or not the dog sitter made their stop every day. The timer was easy to program and the instructions were straight forward. I tested the Ergo feeder indoors to get the timer set for the right number of feedings for my dogs. I needed a metered feeder because these dogs would empty a regular gravity feeder in no time. After a week of testing, I went through a 3 hour installation setting the feeder up four feet off the ground and under the cover of a five foot eve, outdoors but under cover. It worked fine for just over two weeks. Then it jammed. Now it won't work for more than a minute or two without jamming. The problem is with the auger drive. I think it has plastic drive gears inside so even if the manufacturer replaced the drive unit, the same problem would happen again. Despite the time invested testing and installing this product, it has to go back.
