I can't believe I am actually writing a review for something that picks up dog poop, but this thing works fantastic! I originally bought a rake and dustpan, but all that did was smear it around............(again, I can't believe I am reviewing this product!) Why didn't I choose to review the toaster oven....or a desk chair! Anyway, honestly this thing gets under the "present" and leaves nothing behind! Even when your dog had......mexican for dinner. And you can do it with one hand so your other hand is free to read my glowing review on your Ipone, or blackberry, or blueberry.
Anyway, if this thing doesn't pick it up; you may have bought a horse and didn't know it.

I have three dogs, I foster dogs, and I have a dog sitting business...so I've tried MANY different pooper scoopers. This is by far the BEST and easiest pooper scooper to use. It is very effective and is priced reasonably. I highly recommend one for every dog household!

This is a well made, sturdy product. My only problem is that the handle is to short for a 6 foot adult. The handle needs to be 12 inches longer to keep from bending over while using it.

I've got an 80-pound, 8-month-old Weimaraner whose frequent "lawn gifts" were becoming a bit unwieldy with the previous pooper scoopers we've used. We had good results with one of those squeeze-the-lever-and-open-the-jaws models (like this one: Advance Poop Scoop) -- especially in the winter -- but with the arrival of spring, it became much harder to get everything out of the grass. We've only been using this product for about 2 weeks, but the Rake gets right in under the poopy and lifts it right out of the grass in one movement. We ordered a scissor-style pooper scooper along with this one, too (which has yet to arrive), but we're in no hurry to try it out as this item has performed marvelously.
As for the size of the product, I'm 6'4" and have had no trouble with its length, though it is slightly shorter than I would prefer. But it's the handle that compels me to give this a 4-star rather than 5-star review. It's essentially a wire loop with a rubber sleeve fitted over the top, so the grip feels hollow (because it is) where I'd prefer something more racquet-like. Otherwise, as for its function, it's a great time- and lawn-saving item.

Update at 10 months:
I still rank this scooper very high, although I will note that there is a tine that catches in my grass -- it may be Centipede grass, which has an above-ground runner system. One tine in particular snags the runners of the grass and neither combatant wants to let go, so the tine bends. I usually have to push it against a fence post to get it back in line with the other tines. Just a word of caution to anyone who has grasses with an intricate runner system (like St. Augustine's grass or seashore paspalum) that scooping too deeply may leave you in a tug of war with your lawn. This may delight your neighbors, but it's not much fun.

I have scooped poop for as long as I can remember and have NEVER found anything that works as well as this wire rake!!!! Totally Amazing! It even picks up the gross, soft, squishy stuff (TMI)...I was so pleased I bought my daughter one (she has 3 mini-weenies) and she'll get it next week. Some of the people on the taller side said that the handle is a little short, but it is just right for me at 5' 8" and it is light and easy to use. The rake is just awesome!!!!! If there ever was a must-buy this is it!!!!
