I HAVE A VERY LONG HAIRED PERSIAN CAT AND HE GETS MATTED UP REALLY EASILY. I HAVE TRIED MANY MAT REMOVERS THAT DO NOT WORK BUT THIS ONE HAS GOTTEN OUT EVERY TANGLE AND MAT VERY EASY.

This little tool works pretty well. I like that you can get the same kind of stroke with it whether you use your left or right hand. It does a pretty good job getting out small tangles on my Persian. The points of each tine are VERY POINTY though. Must use a gentle hand and be sure to only tug tangles or this will really hurt your pets skin if it is scraped against his skin.

This little tool finds tangles in my dog's hair quickly and effectively. The metal tines are sharp enough to grab onto the knot and rip away other hairs without scratching the skin underneath (just be kind to your furry friend by holding the base of their fur so that it doesn't hurt them!).
I have a Havanese (double-coated) and I love not having to go backward against my dog's coat to detangle his second coat - saves so much time and quite a bit of discomfort for my pup!
Added tip - the tool is really good at dematting fur, but you'll want to use a regular pin brush afterward to "clean up" any knots that it loosened from your pet's coat but didn't stick in the tines. What happens is that the tool will get the knots free from the rest of the coat, but (at least in my dog), there will be stray hairs that will "shed" when your pet shakes its fur if you don't brush our your pet after using this tool.

I was really impressed with this product. I have a long-haired persian cat that is very difficult to groom. He has a very thick undercoat that quickly becomes matted if not attended to every day. This comb easily thinned his undercoat and removed the mats. It is the perfect size for cats or small dogs.

I have 3 long hair cats. One of them HATES to be groomed so any tool that helps me get his mats out fast is A+ in my book. This "comb" gets the mats out without much tugging or pulling and the cat doesn't even seem to notice. I loved it so much I shared it with a friend who has a dog that mats and won't sit still to be groomed. It worked so well on her dog, I gave it to her as a gift and bought myself another one. I like this tool because it isn't sharp like a razor so there is no fear of cutting the cat or myself. Definitely a must have for anyone with long hair animals, well worth the price!!!
