I'd give this more stars if more were availableNov 24, 2007
By M. Howard I was a dog breeder for over 12 years and tried a LOT of different poop scoopers. (Medium size breed 35-50 lbs). Separated pan and "hoe" are much better than those that are hinged. Thank goodness they didn't ruin this model with "rake" tines. Shovel-pan and hoe is the way to go! Works great in grass - even the "tough messes". Just angle the "hoe" and tap the edge of the grass around the doo to ease it into the shovel pan. The pan will usually hold around 4 to six doo-piles until it needs to be emptied into your plastic-bag-lined waste catcher. Tie the bag up at the end of the day and toss into the garbage to maintain good sanitation practices.

i ordered this item and just like "jesse e." I received the purple handle pooper scooper, not the one in the main picture Amazon has posted. It wasn't even made by Firstrax. I would return this but I am in need of a pooper scooper and I am not displeased in the product I got, just wish Amazon could do the work and post the correct pictures and info about the products they are selling.

Just What was Needed!Jul 26, 2007

This is a well designed tool which makes an unpleasant job easier. The price was right and it's easy to clean with a garden hose.

Pick up the Poopy!May 12, 2008

Is a poopy scooper just a poopy scooper? Apparently not. Over the last few years we have tried several and they lasted less than a year. Springs would brake, plastic handles would break, many would hurt your hands just using them.
I saw my neighbor using his and he never seemed to have a problem, at least the problems we were having. This scooper saves time, energy, wear and tear on yourself, and is clearly the way to go when it comes to your pet. This terrible job will seem to be a fresh breeze compared to others.

Nice ScooperNov 01, 2009
By Kutya Love this scooper. When it arrived and I discovered it was plastic, I was disappointed, but now 6 months later, I like that about it. Metal gets dinged up over time and the edge no longer smooth makes pick-up more difficult. Durable plastic stays smooth on the edge and is easy to clean. Love the long handles.
