It is what it isFeb 22, 2012
By Bronzah Its a part for a water pump. Came in fairly quick and it was not broken. Cant give it less then 5 stars unless it came in late or broken.
Fluval Aquarium filter replacement parts.Jun 13, 2011
By Peter Castaldi I bought all the replaceable component parts for my Fluval aquarium filter which had become noisy. With all parts replaced (about $15 in cost), the filter is like new: quiet, efficient. Parts arrived quickly, safely, well packaged. Highly recommend this alternative to buying a new Fluval for $200.

Handle with careJul 29, 2011
By K. Jennings I've had a Fluval 305 for five years with zero issues...until a few days ago. During a routine cleaning I took the impeller out and the shaft snapped in half. Be EXTREMELY careful with this thing when replacing! It's very fragile and breaks with the slightest bit of pressure on it.

405 not a great designApr 08, 2011

I don't really like fluval 405's the FX5's are much better. I wouldn't buy any of the smaller fluval canister filters again. The ceramic shaft and the impeller covers break all the time.

Not very sturdyNov 22, 2010
By R. Pruitt Ensure you are very careful to replace the 'cover' in the exact way you removed it; it's not monkey proof-don't replace the cover upsidedown, the topside looks like it should be the bottomside! Not true. This is the 3rd one I've replaced. I did notice the 3rd one had a little larger diameter than the 2 previous ones. Just be gentle and pay close attention to the details and you will not have any problems.
