DEE IN PA.Jul 11, 2010 HI, I BOUGHT 4 CANS OF THIS FOOD FOR MY FROGS, AND THEY LOVE IT. WHEN I GO TO THE PET STORE TO BUY IT, IT;S ALMOST 4 DOLLARS A CAN. I BOUGHT IT HERE FOR A 1.59. WHAT A BARGAIN. I.M GLAD I LOOKED I NTO AMAZON.
My frogs love this food.Oct 28, 2009 There is no longer a pet store within 100 miles from where I live that carries this frog food. So, I was relieved to find that Amazon carried it. As long as I have had African Dwarf Frogs, I have fed them this food. They love it and it helps them stay healthy. It stores well and easy to use. This is the only brand for me for my frogs.
My frogs won't touch!!Aug 30, 2009 I bought these in hopes that my African Dwarf Frogs would eat them so I wouldn't have to mess with worms. They wouldn't even think about trying to eat them. But they wouldn't eat the freeze-dried worms either. Maybe they are just picky eaters. I have had to go with the frozen worms!
So glad to find!Jan 07, 2009 My frog, Phil, loves this food and stopped eating when I tried to substitute another type. I have alwayes purchased the Frog Bites from the our pet store, but it was removed from the shelf. So, I decided to search online, and made the purchase. Thanks so much! It arrived when expected and Phil is happy, too.

Great for Tadpoles, Small Frogs AND FishMar 13, 2008 If you purchase a kit to raise frogs from tadpoles so that tha kiddies can watch metamorphasis, you will typically recieve African clawed frogs. THIS is the food for them in the tadpole to small frog stage.
Be aware that if you have frogs and fish in the same tank, your FISH may REFUSE to eat fish flakes and strongly prefer these tadpole bites.
My frogs have outgrown this food and are now on adult frog food by NAMCO. My fish will eat NOTHING else but tadpole bites so I still buy it. The gold fish is now 7.5 inches and is a beautiful golden color. Forget foods that say you must buy...fill in name of expensive fish food here. Forget foods that insist your fish wont grow or maintain color unless you pay good money for their speicalized food.
I have a large, 5 ft by 1.5 ft deep, tank. I have tried placing each of two different foods at opposite ends of the tank. This is the food the animals go to. That would be a moot point if the animals were not growing appropriately or were unhealthy. These animals are growing very well for age and I have had NO problems with disease in the tank.
For tadpoles a couple of containers of this may last you a week or two depending on the number of tadpoles you have. My fish currently eats one container full every 3 days. (Ok so the adult frogs help her out with that as they can't resist, even though they have adult frog food in the tank.)
Buy one container and if your animal doesnt prefer it, you have blown a bit over a dollar ONLY.
As a side note, if you consider adding fully aquatic frogs to your tank, keep your fish separate until bigger than the frogs. The frogs WILL eat your fish if they catch them. Aquatic animals eat smaller aquatics as a rule so if the fish is bigger it is safer. When older, the fish and frogs school together and sleep together on the bottom of the tank.
I began offering adult frog food to my frogs when they were beyond 1.5 inches in length. As a start I continued to put tadpole bites into the tank as well. By watching what the frogs eat, you can judge if they still need the food for smaller frogs. The difference in foods is in the pellet size. Very small frogs find it easier to grip the small food particles in tadpole bites. Larger frogs find this more difficult. Picture you versus an ant trying to pick up a crumb of bread. Smaller animals can more easily lift smaller items to their mouths.
Consider turning your filter OFF during feedings so that this food is not IMMEDIATELY sucked into your filter. Allow your animals to feed. This takes about 10 minutes. Then turn your filter back on. If your using an auto feeder place it on the opposite end of the tank from your filter. Run your auto feeder for several days before you leave town to judge how much extra you must put in the tank to compensate for your filter remaining ON during feedings.
