This add-on has two functions: it can be used as an outside hamster wheel and it can be used to create a mobile set-up. When using the trainer as an outside wheel, you can watch your hamster enjoy his daily exercise while he spins around. The advantage of adding the trainer to any set-up is that it attaches on the outside of the habitat so you can actually see your hamster run. The other great thing about the Habitrail OVO Club Trainer is, you can design a set-up which uses the Trainer as movable wheels, allowing you to move your pet's entire home around the house. The Habitrail OVO Club Trainer is a great addition to your hamster's home. | | | Features: | |

Great for syrian hamsters!!!!Feb 20, 2011
By JP Been looking for a wheel that will fit the right size for my syrian hamster and this wheel fits the category.
Pros: -Large enough for a syrian hamster -Easy to assemble and disassemble -Attaches to any cage (SAM, Crittertrail, habitrail, etc)

Would be better if it came with...Jan 30, 2009
By M. Mansfield It'd be better if it came with two of those 45 degree arching tubes to help anchor it somewhere, since most people either can't find or can't afford the giant double-bubble suite thingie it's attached to in the picture.
This apparatus is *HEAVY*. I cannot stress this enough. It needs to be braced on both sides by tubes, or be attached FIRMLY to the side of a cage. Adding a hamster to it only makes it heavier, so make sure it's as simple and sturdy a set-up as you can accomplish. However, once it's set up? My hamster loves running on the wheel. Adores it. She'll go for nearly an hour before finally abandoning the wheel for food, water, and a well-earned nap.
Once more we see the nifty locking system the OVO tubes use, and I adore it. They not only hold tubes together, but hold them in nifty patterns that other tube-connecting pieces can't offer. And hamsters can't seem to break the seals.

Fun wheel, great exerciseFeb 11, 2009
By Mocha Our hamster loves this wheel. He happily runs for an hour or more on it during the evening. We have the Habitrail Ovo Loft cage, and have attached the Trainer on the outside of a "Tee" tube off the main cage. (See pic) It seems pretty stable there. We removed the regular wheel that came with our Loft cage, as it didn't seem necessary to have two wheels, and this freed up a lot of space inside the cage. The wheel is fairly quiet, but not completely silent. The cage is in a child's bedroom, but the noise of the wheel doesn't keep the kids awake, or wake them up during the night. Even with the black rubber band attached and the white "catcher" in place, we find that a few shavings do escape and fall from the wheel, but this is not a problem for us. The kids really enjoy watching the hamster run on it. All-in-all, a great addition to the Ovo line.

My hamster loves this.Jul 18, 2010
By Happy in Cali My hamster loves this wheel, but today while my hamster was running, the white base that is attached with the lock to another habitrail ovo piece detached from the blue part of the base and the wheel with my hamster fell off. she is a bit shook up but still loves her wheel. so even though it's not in the instructions, make sure the white and blue base area is snapped in.

MessyMar 01, 2011

Tossed this wheel in the trash. The hamsters nest in the wheel and then run in it which spreads 'stuff' everywhere! OVO is good but get the wheel inside the cage.
