I purchased three rolls of this underlayment to put down under my PondGuard liner. To discribe it...it is like a very thick felt. To hold it in place, I taped the rolls together prior to lowering into the pond.
Others have suggested newspaper or sand for their underlayment, for the price, this was very easy to use and good quality.
