Best Sinking Pellet for CarnivoresJan 03, 2007

I have been using this food for a number of years now, and I find it is the best in terms of palatability for Catfish and Loaches. I have an eight inch Clown Loach that will not eat anything else. It is a very high quality fish food that is impossible to find locally for me so I usually will buy at least 6 packages at a time. It is not inexpensive, but like many things you get what you pay for.

Wonderful!Nov 11, 2008

This is a fantastic food that my fish gobble up and seem to really enjoy. It's healthy, balanced, nutritious, and tasty!
My normally shy catfish will come right out of hiding when he knows it's feeding time and he slurps these pellets up as quick as he can find them (pretty quick).
Great food! Highly recommend!

Great for Bichirs and Large CichlidsNov 14, 2007
By Janis C. Extine Great for bichirs and larger cichlids. In fact, most of my fish eat the pellets after they have softened.

Decent carnivore pelletJun 18, 2011

The Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellet is a decent quality pellet for medium carnivores. I appreciate that the pellets don't quickly dissolve in water and it seems my fish really like munching on them. I use them to feed my 3 woodcats (which will eat just about anything) and my vampire pleco (which has been a fairly finicky eater) but all my fish enjoy them.
No real downside to the Hikari Sinking pellets (maybe they could have a slightly higher protein content) overall they are a high quality food that my fish really respond to. The packaging leaves a little to be desired; I would prefer a solid container as opposed to the bag but that doesn't really influence the food quality, so it is just a minor inconvenience.
