4Easy to fix if not workingOct 14, 2010
By M491
I was very skeptical about buying after seeing so many people say the FLO broke shortly after purchase. I had mine for one week and it too stopped. I like to work on things rather than throw away and figured it would be easy to take apart. There is a white snap connector on the front of the FLO and you simply push it together and the entire device comes apart. In my case a small saltwater snail lodged inside the gear that rotates the FLO and I simply rinsed off the part and put it back together and it works fine. If you have any issues take this apart and there are really 5-6 parts that make the entire unit up so it is easy to clean or fix. Now knowing how easy this is to fix I wish I had it long ago. It does a great job of mixing the water flow from the nano tank pump in my Biocube. It is a very good buy in my opinion and necessary for any nano tank.

1Gears wear-out by 3rd monthJan 21, 2007
By James D. Cornetet
bought two of these deflectors and setup on two different powerheads. worked great for 2months but the continous water pressure pushing on the interal plastic gears wore-out the gears by month #3 ... tried cleaning the gears with a toothbrush but the gears had loosened up so much that the thing quit spinning and became USELESS. you could sit there and hear the gears "chattering" and the thing not spinning. a total waste of $15.

4Perfect for NanotanksJan 20, 2010
By R. N. Nace "Home theatre enthusiast"
I can see how it would fall apart under sustained high pressure, or be too large for a small powerhead (it's only a bit smaller than a nano Koralia). But, for the right application, like the return for my 6 gallon Nano-reef sump runing a pump at 160gph, it's perfect, and takes no more room than a fancy spray nozzle. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that it does appear to be flimsy, and I would not be surprised if it falls apart during one of the suggested monthly cleanings. Still, at $12, it is a valuable resource for this (admittedly limited) application.

3OK for a small filter ...... but then it takes too much room.May 21, 2008
By Scott D. Hootman
This device is designed for low output pumps like those used on small tanks but then it takes up too much tank space. It handles about 65 GPH and what I really needed was something that would take care of 2,000 GPH. It actually fell apart into peices as I handled it.

3Worked well at first....May 21, 2012
By M. Real
They worked well for the first 4-5 months, and moved the water around my 28 gallon jbj well, however the last two weeks they no longer stay on my outlets. It's as if the diameter has increased so minutely that within 30 seconds of putting them back on they fall off. At first I assumed there was a bit of an algae buildup and it had gotten slick. I took them both out and did a thorough wash of them and tried again hoping I could fix the problem. I also tried a few other things, but nothing works. I also checked my water flow to make sure I wasn't overpowering them, but I can't imagine them even working with a lower flow rate then what I have. I'm hesitant to order them again, but the fact that they worked pretty well I think I can handle $13 bucks.
