Used for veggie seedlingsApr 15, 2011
By Bike Enthusiast The instructions made it difficult for me to determine how I should mix it for greenhouse veggie seedlings. I mixed it low (1tsp/gal), and fertilized twice within two weeks, but didn't really see any growth difference. I finally bumped it up to 2.5tsp/gal (almost 1tbsp/gal), and saw a small growth spurt. I am also using this in one of those hose-end sprayers that mixes the water and fertilizer automatically, which I also DO NOT recommend for seedlings. Overall, I'm leaning toward a granular fertilizer for seedlings. And besides, any fish fertilizer smells so terrible!!!!!

Great fertilizer, happy garden veggiesJan 12, 2012
By momoffive I started a veggie garden last season on a buget. The gardening books that I read recomended this type of fertilizer. Worked great you use one ounce per. Gallon every few weeks, economical. My first garden grew really well with loads of veggies. Will use again and again.

Great organic fertilizerJun 07, 2011
By J. Mitchel I've only just started using this fertilizer, but so far I am very happy with it. I used it on some container plants that were growing slowly and saw a growth increase the next day! Right now I'm using it at half the recommended concentration with twice as frequent applications, and though that the doesn't produce the same sort of obvious overnight growth as the full strength application, I think it is more healthy for the plants. And of course, fertilizer does not make up for crappy soil -- the first thing to do is start with good soil with lots of compost. In conjunction with healthy soil, this stuff seems great, so far.
It doesn't smell wonderful, but I find that as long as I don't stick my nose in the bottle, I don't mind too much. I wouldn't use it on house plants or anything, but its fine for the garden.
Another thing I like about this fertilizer is that it is pretty balanced -- straight up fish fertilizer tends to have way more nitrogen, which can encourage leggy plants.
