A good looking bowl that does what it's supposed to as well!Aug 01, 2011
By Robert C. Vincent Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R221FBZ7SBHAAT When we got our GSD (German Shepherd Dog) puppy at 10 weeks I would have described him as a voracious eater. By 12 weeks it was no longer amusing as I know of the propensity for bloat in this breed so I looked up ways to slow him down. He'd push balls out of his food so that was a no-go, but then I found the whole array of slow-feed bowls. I chose this one because I like the look of it. I bought this one and one of the plastic ones to go with it with a different design. Both of the bowls slow him down but he liked to tip the plastic one so we've stuck this using this one. He's gone from eating his food in 30 seconds to just about 2 minutes. He's also chewing which is a good thing, something he seemed to have lived without before. He's tried to tip this to no avail. Also he's slowed down in general taking treats, could be from this bowl or from getting a little more mature. In all, the bowl works great and looks good. It's was hilarious the first few days the way he would run around the bowl trying to catch the food, since then he's taking to laying down, maybe it gives him a better angle. Either way, as he grows his snout should grow too, maybe that will slow him down even more.
Some specs on the video: Large size bowl containing 2 1/4 cup of dog food. 14 week old GSD. Watch him eat beginning to end with no commentary or anything, pretty boring but might make you decide to buy this bowl or forget it.
Edit: Edited to match comments for clarity. Also, now that he's grown it has slowed him down even more with his larger face. Still love the bowl and it's still in great condition!

Great BowlDec 18, 2010
By M. Rowe We have a 65 pound golden retriever purchased this bowl after my dog continuously "gulped" her food down at meal time. The bowl is well made and equipped with a non-skid bottom which helps keep the bowl from sliding on the floor. Most importantly, however, the bowl serves it's purpose and causes my dog to eat more slowly. Amazon service was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

No More GulpingMar 17, 2011
By C.N. I ordered these slow feeding bowls for our labs about 2 weeks ago. At first, it took a while for our dogs to learn how to eat out of them. They made a mess! Food was flying out of the bowls everywhere. I have, now, set a towel down under the bowls to catch the displaced food bits. Otherwise, the bowls are great. They have really slowed down their meal times which used to last only a couple of minutes, total! Our dogs used to literally GULP down their food -- just inhaling food and air which could not have been very healthy. The stainless steel makes it easy to clean and the rubber rims around the bottom keeps the bowls from sliding around.

Dick's dog's review.Sep 29, 2010

My pug dips his head into the water bowl when he drinks and slops up the floor after he is done. I bought this bowl not for food but in the hopes that it would stop him from sticking his head into the bowl while slurping and it works very well for that. The floor is now almost dry after he is finished drinking. Thanks to Amazon for this one.

Great bowl for dogAug 15, 2011
By mtw27 I bought the medium size for a 70 lb husky lab mix dog. It's a great bowl, very sturdy and fits just enough for what I feed her (1.5 cups). Since it's stainless steel, my dog can't destroy her bowl like she did the plastic one I had bought her. Would definitely buy again.
