One of my dogs has wiry hair on her outer coat, and a thick downy undercoat that can get matted, even though her hair never gets that long. I'm amazed at how much hair comes off of her when I brush, and the hair stays on the brush and doesn't get on the floor. Regular brushing lessens the number of times I have to sweep up the full-sized fur coats my Dottie deposits nearly every day in my livingroom. After brushing, her outer coat looks so clean and shiny!

I am a professional pet groomer with over 35 years experience. JW gripsoft slicker brushes are the BEST on the market! When ordering them PAY ATTENTION, only JW brand come with regular pins AND/OR soft pins. My personal opinion is the soft pins are the best...soft pin brushes are marketed for pets with sensitive skin and/or skin problems, however, it is my opinion that a pet owner should ONLY use soft pin brushes! The manufacturer model number for JW Gripsoft small pet soft pin slicker is #65011 and the JW Gripsoft large pet soft pin slicker is #65002. Do not rely on the pictures but the original brushes have gray rubber under the soft pin brush and blue rubber under the regular pin brushes.

This is the best brush I have found for brushing my Goldendoodles. Gentle on my dogs and does a great job. Have used it for over 4 years and purchased a new one now that Is a bit bigger brush but does the same wonderful job. The blue version works well too but a little firmer brush. This and a comb is all I need.

First, let me say the product is a 5-star product. I am using it NOT as intended on dogs, but rather on cats.
This dog brush is the only one which had the short metal bristles. It works well on our long haired cats. I wish there was a smaller version with the same bristles for our short haired cats. (hint hint to manufacturer and retailer)

Really like this brush. It gets into the knots without hurting or scratching the dog's skin in anyway. Our older dog goes to sleep while getting brushed, so I have to say that's quite a testament.
