I am a professional pet groomer with over 35 years experience. JW gripsoft slicker brushes are the BEST on the market! When ordering them PAY ATTENTION, only JW brand come with regular pins AND/OR soft pins. My personal opinion is the soft pins are the best...soft pin brushes are marketed for pets with sensitive skin and/or skin problems, however, it is my opinion that a pet owner should ONLY use soft pin brushes! The manufacturer model number for JW Gripsoft small pet soft pin slicker is #65011 and the JW Gripsoft large pet soft pin slicker is #65002. Do not rely on the pictures but the original brushes have gray rubber under the soft pin brush and blue rubber under the regular pin brushes.

I love the brush and so do my dogs. One of my dogs is a Rough Collie mix and has a lot of fur that needs brushing. My other dog is a pure bred Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog) and also has a lot of fur. The bristles on the brush are gentle enough not to hurt my babies, but hard enough to get out the tangles. My only complaint is that the bristle area is small and I have to pull hair out of the brush every 4 or 5 brush strokes. It could be because my dogs shed a lot, but isn't that what a brush is for? Otherwise, it's an excellent purchase and my dogs absolutely LOVE it.

Fantastic for animals with sensitive skinMar 13, 2012

I have a Golden Retriever mix Service Dog that has very sensitive skin. I ordered this brush because my old pin brush that we had used on our Australian Cattle Dogs was too harsh for her. She really hated being brushed with it, but she sheds horribly, and it's hard to keep up with all that hair. I just got my brush and already she shows no signs of being annoyed by it. I also have two long-haired cats, and they even like the brush. I highly recommend this brush for pets that have sensitive skin.

Purchased the small size for our cocker spaniel. Very good quality, exactly what we needed. The bristles are soft but they do the job and don't hurt the dog. She seems to enjoy being brushed.
