Baked Salmon Dog Treats by KongDec 05, 2010

we have had excellent results with this product.
Assuming the labeling is true - it is 100% salmon - no additives etc.
Also - we are assuming that the manufacturing process is safe (Blindly trusting Kong people - hope it is justified)
Our 1.5 yr old male Maltese is a fussy eater but he LOVES this treat.
Since he nibbles - at best - at his kibble - I tested using the salmon as a 'seasoning' to his meals and it seems to work most of the time.
The treats are easy to crumble into a powder and I just sprinkle it into the kibble and mix it up.
I'm guessing that the smell helps.
By the way - the treat does have a fairly strong odor and will probably cause your pet to have less than attractive breath - but as an apparent healthy treat (and in our case 'seasoning') it's definitely worth trying out.
Has a high protein count so keep that in mind with smaller dogs (ie small portions only)
If my assumptions are correct then I strongly recommend trying this product for your dog.

My dog is a little picky with treats and food, but she loves these. We use them for training. I went to the dog park with her with some of these in a bag inside of my pocket, and all of the dogs were jumping at the smell and begging for treats even though I didn't take them out of my pocket. Super yum, it seems. The only ingredient on the ingredients list is salmon. The package says 100% salmon, baked not smoked, no additives or fillers and grain free. Made in Denmark. I'm going to keep buying them!

These small crunchy squares are delicious according to our dogs. They are rather fishy smelling to me, as to be expected, but the dogs don't mind a bit. Even though they love them, neither of our dogs can get the treats out of the 2 Kongs we have. So eventually, we end up extracting them for them....maybe that is all part of their plan.

I used these treats to crate train my dog. Now all he has to do is see me head for the container and he runs inside his crate. He loves these! They do have a VERY strong fishy smell which is why I gave it four vs. five stars. I wanted to be able to put them in my pocket (for training while on walks), but they would have to go inside a baggie first. They are also good to put inside toys.
