Easy to Clean, But Drips Too MuchOct 31, 2011
By KSM Recently installed this largish water bottle for our smallish Bunny and *love* the design for cleaning, but quickly realized that the floor staining we were seeing was from the water bottle, not the bunny. After freshly filling the bottle, half the water was missing (and en route to the floor) less than a day later.
Nice and quiet, but too messy!Jul 26, 2011
By Britbrit Heres the thing about these bottles. I bought it because it has a lever to release the water rather than the noisy metal ball most of them have. It worked perfectly for that. It was no longer loud and annoying when my buns got a drink. However, we noticed there was a LARGE amount of water ending up on the bottom of the cage every day. We thought it might be leaking but we never once saw it drip. After more observation we discovered that the lever released too much water every time they took a drink and most of it ended up on the ground instead of in their mouth. We tried putting towels and bedding under it to soak up the water but it was such a pain and the bunnies didnt seem to like using it anymore. So we switched to a crock the size of a small bowl and they seem to really like it. Its easy, there is no mess, and we are all happy.
So far so goodSep 04, 2010
By V. C Polak We have switched over to this waterer from the ball-type waterer because of it's ease of use. We have a rabbitry and have searched for over a year trying to find a waterer that didn't leak AND was relatively easy to refill. When you have dozens and dozen of rabbits watering them becomes a real chore to unscrew and refill and rescrew the cap back on. When I discovered these, I bought the 32oz one to try it. It worked so well and doesn't leak that I bought 4 more. We tried them out for about 3 months before buying more. We are currently in the process of replacing all of our water bottles with these because we like them so well. The only problem is re-training the rabbits to get water from these as it is a bit more work for them. But it has cut down on chore time by 1/2 and we don't have all of them replaced yet. Others have reported leaking problems so we'll be on the look out for that. I know the manufacturer states that you need to clean out the nozzle at least once a month, more if you have hard water because of all the mineral build up. Maybe that's part of the problem I don't know. But we clean ours out to cut down on colds and infections anyway. I would recommend this waterer to any one and we are starting to see more and more of them at the rabbit shows too.
Way too leakyApr 27, 2009

I just purchased this item about 2 weeks ago. It leaks all the time. The corner where I have it is constantly soaking wet. So, not only was it a waste of money to purchase...but it continues to be a waste because it's a waste of bedding. Don't buy this. I'm replacing it right now.
used this for yearsNov 08, 2007

I'm about to get my third one of these. The mechanism inside leaks after a year or two of usage by 2 ferrets. Before that, it's pretty effective. It may drip a little as they use it, but I just keep a container underneath anyway. Why I really love it is the ease in which this is taken on and off the cage.
