Vacation fish feederOct 10, 2007
By J. Williams Great choice for fish feeding when going on a vacation. Medium size cichlid pellets fit well. Flakes work also as long as they are broken into a size smaller than 1/4 inch. Waffers also need to be broken into small enough sizes. The reservoir is plenty large. Only 1/10th was needed for a week. The ability to adjust feeding for 2, 3, or 4 feedings per day is a nice feature. Definitely recommended.

Not dependableAug 26, 2010
By BOSS When I got it, I thought it was a simple enough design that it would be dependable and I was glad it had a large capacity hopper, I needed it to work for a 4month stretch. The result, first couple of weeks, it works great. Then I put the big hopper on. Voila, it get's stuck on the wheel and despenses food constantly for about a day, until I get home and notice the tank full of food, and the wheel is stuck turning.
The problem was the metal fin was too high so it get's stuck on the wheel and keeps turning it when it should release after one section rotates in. I filed the fin down and it started working again. Then I leave for my trip, filled it before I left. Came back, full of food, the thing hadn't worked for 4 months. No I don't know how my fish are still alive, but I try to rotate it manually, it's stuck so it just clicks when it hooks on the wheel, goes past but, but doesn't rotate it to dispense food.
Last chance, I take it apart, clean everything out, fill it with food again, no flake food because I think that might be gunking it up over time. Works for a week, checking it every day, then jams and the motor strips.
This think is not worth it. The design seemed good, but is flawed because food invariably drops under the wheel causing it to either get stuck, or keep rotating.
I would not buy this feeder, at all.

Could be betterSep 06, 2007
By Richard T. Martin Worked great for about 7-8 months, i bought 2. Then they both stopped working. I like that they hold 4 months worth of food, and you can feed 4 times a day. Just don't know why they only lasted 7-8 months.
