I use this bottle on the crate in the car so that my dog has access to water at all times, not just at stops. It isn't drip free when the vehicle moves, but is when it is stopped. There is nothing wrong with the attachment as another reviewer complained about. That person's dog has behavior issues. My dog took to this immediately. I put a tiny smear of peanut butter on the tip the first time only.

I bought this water bottle because I have a very active beagle who routinely dismounts her stainless steel food and water cups while she is crated. This bottle lasted about two days before she had it off of her crate. She had managed to chew off the spring which holds the water bottle upright and stretched it to the point of uselessness. I repaired it with a couple of chain links and a small bungee cord, but it's still a hassle to dismount and remount the bottle when the water runs low.
I think Lixit could improve the mounting of the bottle with a clamp of metal or plastic that surround the bottle and can be bolted to the crate, as I've seen on other competing products. The mounting system is the weak point of the product (at least for energetic dogs) and it needs to be addressed. Apart from that...it delivers water, and, if you follow the instructions, it doesn't leak.

This waterer works only okay, the water is leaking all the time.
However, that is not the worst.
This waterer is extremely hard to apply. You need to break your finger to attach this thing on the crate. Take it off? Sorry, it will hurt you again.
The only recommendation: fina an alternative product.

The bottle works fine and is easy enough to use. Arrived on time and was as the description states with the exception of one thing. It did not mention it was for toy breeds. Had I noticed that on my own I would have ordered the bigger one but honestly is big enough, its not like hamster sized.
It is a tad bit drippy but all of these bottle types drip (drips more than average but not enough to worry about a mess). I would like it to state "Toy Breeds" for the slow people like me.

The Lixit water bottle is just what I was looking for to send my daughters Standard Poodle to the army base in Germany. Airlines requires water and this solved the problem. I have attached it to his container and filled it several times. Works great and he has learned to use it while in his crate.
