I bought this thing after trying lubricant on my old impeller. I had no success in making my old one quiet down. I had it about 2 years I guess. I installed this one and the difference is amazing! I be if I added a little lube I wouldn't hear anything but water. Worked perfect in my Emporer 400. Highly recommend this for anyone with noise problems.

I have had an Emperor 400 for many years. After some time, the plastic bushing on the impeller wears out causing unwanted vibration that results in a terrible noise. Simply replaced this part and I am back to a new unit. Very happy with the purchase.

The impeller I had before was the original when I had bought the filter unit a few years ago. replacing it with this new one made the filter super quiet again and works even better on my 80 gallon tank. Transaction was great - got it very quickly
