Performs superbly!Oct 27, 2007
By Vicki Wadick Just to counter the (understandably) negative review due to packaging issues....I have used these pumps for several years in my aquariums and have found them to be quiet and reliable. Even better, when they do inevitably malfunction, replacement parts are easily and reasonably obtained, right here on amazon in fact!! So I don't have to throw the whole thing out, just a little impeller. Works for me!!!

By Sherry Kersey Product was defective. Parts did not fit properly. I feel the wrong part went to a smaller power head. The company replaced the powerhead but opened the package for the new powerhead and swapped out for the same part. I have 4 of these same powerheads so I know how they are packaged and how the parts fit. Woman from company wanted me to go to a hardware store and buy Pipe tape and repair it myself. I refused because I should not have to repair a new product. Problem not resolved. Will not purchase product again

I think this powerhead is nice. However, the top cover kept popping off. The one side would not stay down. I shaved extra pieces of plastic waste from the stems, but still would not stay on. I didn't feel like messing with the trouble of trying to send it back so I used black zip ties to keep the lid down. It is working like a champ.
best low cost powerhead I've usedJan 30, 2010
By BJ I've used other powerheads in the past. Maxi Jets are way better. I have multiple tanks and use the 900 & 1200. They circulate the water well, aren't too noisy and last over a year. The only thing I don't like about them is that the product info is stamped on the side of the unit and doesn't look good in the tank. In my fresh water aquarium I partially hide it with tall plants in my salt water aquariums it eventually gets cover in coraline.
