Great for WestiesFeb 19, 2010

I have two westies and they both tolerate this type of stripping very well. I kept a previous westie groomed using electric shears and it revealed the soft undercoat. Westies are earth dogs and they love to play so she did not stay clean. The two I have now have never been sheared and stay very clean unless they jump in the lake. We went out in the snow last weekend and after a shake at the door most of the water was gone. A quick towel on the feet and they were set. This stripper keeps the hard top coat intact and natural looking. I am sold. Use it every other week or so and the dogs never get restless.

There can be only one....Nov 24, 2009

The coat king is the best there is when it comes to removing pet loose hair. We have a German Shepherd dog and as most know, they shed relentlessly. While the Coat King has not stopped the shedding it certainly has reduced it significantly by removing much of the dense undercoat. One word of caution though. The item descriptions are misleading. We bought the 12 blade and it would be a perfect fit for a small cat or perhaps a toy breed. If you have a larger dog go for a much larger brush. In my opinion the cost is a bit high.

No more uneven trimming!Jan 22, 2011
By SavvyShopper I have three Goldens and this is a life saver in our heavy heat. I don't agree with shaving a Golden- they have that hair for a reason people! However, as they are in and out of the pool three or five times daily, I wanted to trim the hair down a bit. I normally do this by hand and it always looks a little choppy. No more!! This tool is fabulous! You simply comb it through and it takes the excess off. You may need a different sized one depending on the silkiness of the dog's coat. Two of mine are great with the extra fine, but for my one boy who has super silky hair and lots of curls, that size doesn't do a nice job. I had to buy the one with fewer teeth for his coat. It takes out the undercoat with ease and the dogs simply love it too. After they're done, they prance around very happy to be cooler and still handsome!

Great coat stripper for Schnauzer'sDec 28, 2009

By far this coat stripper has done wonders for our two miniature Schnauzers. It makes the time spend getting their coats back into shape a breeze and the boys enjoy this kind of attention. This product is a great investment for taking care of our Schnauzers and will out last what you can find in most big box stores. Plus, replacements are readily available. This product can be used with either the right or left hand.

Mars Coat Stripper BladeApr 01, 2009
By Normajean Atkinson This product is great. It works wonderful on my CockerSpaniel. My groomer had one of these tools and said she loves it and it is true. It just strips off enough of the coat to make it nice and soft and takes the mats out nicely. He enjoys getting brushed now. I highly recommend it.
