Wish I'd bought one sooner!Jun 15, 2007

This is a tool no dog owner should be without. I've known about it for years, but resisted buying one for fear of using anything with a blade or blade-like cutting edge. But there's nothing to fear in this tool -- the cutting edges are well out of reach of adult fingers and never come in contact with the dog's skin. What they DO do is cut (gently) through matted, tangled hair and (again, gently) loosen it, freeing it from the healthy, growing hair. The result is a dog who looks clean and feels wonderful, whose coat isn't thinner or shorter, but just healthier looking. We joke about "making another dog" from all the dead hair we're able to free up from our long-haired spaniel's coat; that's how dramatic the change is. We also use it on a more thinly-coated spaniel, and while we get less hair, she still looks lovely and clean. Neither dog sheds much, but I have to say that when I use the Coat King regularly, we see little to no shedding in the house.

Mars Coat King - the greatestMay 12, 2007
By M. Howard I can't believe I'm taking the time to do this, but this coat stripper is wonderful. Your dog will be more comfortable and your house will be cleaner. I wish I'd had this 20 years ago when I had a Samoyed who could cover the house in hair in a few hours, but it works great on my Airedale as well.

Great alternative to the stripping combOct 19, 2007

If you have any health issues with your hands, you will find this a wonderful tool to help remove the soft undercoat of the jacket, reducing shedding and helping to maintain the coarse top coat. I love my Coat King and use it on both of my Scottish Terriers. This product is a gtreat alternative to using a stripping comb (probably would not be used by a handler or someone showing their dog as they would be a purest and use the stripping comb) and your pet dog will tolerate it easily. Be sure you purchase the one recommended for your breed as they come in various blade counts.

It's the best!Apr 03, 2009
By Patricia A. Allee I've used just about everything. I have a Cairn Terrier who's coat was a mess due to incorrect grooming for the breed. The Mars stripper is easy, quick and amazing.

The stripper was amazingly easy to use and my Cairn does not seem to mind it at all.
