Metal BrakeFast Dog BowlAug 29, 2009
By Lou I was delighted to see a metal BrakeFast bowl was offered. The concept is good and works to slow down eating; however, the plastic ones don't hold up to an aggressive eater/chewer. Metal is much better, but this metal bowl has its problems, too. Don't know what the base metal is, but there seems to be a slick outer coating that, when chewed on the inside while the dog is eating, quickly develops deep scratches from the tooth action. This makes the bowl difficult to clean and bacteria can develop inside the scratches, plus I am worried that my dog may be ingesting metal scrapings. Why, oh why, isn't the bowl made out of good old straightforward stainless steel? Stainless steel doesn't scratch as easily (or as deeply), and certain would hold up better. These bowls are expensive, and the purchaser should not need to have to keep replacing them. Unless BrakeFast comes up with a stainless steel bowl, this will be the last time they see my money.

This Bowl Could be DangerousMar 06, 2011
By TMM The type of metal broke down rapidly, flaking off and my dog probably consumed the flakes...The underside disintegrated almost completely after a few months of use. I am greatly concerned that the type of metal used could be injurious to animals. I would avoid this product.

Coating chips & flakes offOct 11, 2009

It does slow the eating process. But that's not enough to continue to use this awful bowl. It would better serve the animals if the coasting didn't chip off and contaminate their food. Please consider a remake of this product in stainless steel.
Slow down and have fun!Feb 13, 2012
By Villager I've been using this bowl for 6 months and the dogs love it. Well I don't know if they do but I sure love it! I have one 17 lb terrier mix who bolts her food and it really works to slow her down. I like it for my other little guy, too because it makes him work a little harder to get all his food. I feed a raw diet and since the dogs are small (I'm used to Labs) they seem to get very small portions of food. This bowl helps mealtime last a little longer and makes it a hunting game to be sure they've gotten it all. I have the plastic one as well, but that's a chewable item and it isn't lasting as well. I'm not a fan of plastic bowls for the dogs so the metal one is worth the money.
Great BowlDec 09, 2011
By J.M. Love this bowl. Slows my little girl down, yet doesn't get chewed up between meals. Easy to clean, and stands up to some play time too.
