We have been using this slicker brush in a smaller size with our poodle along with a good quality comb like the Pro Conair Conair Yellow Dog Comb with Memory Gel Grip, Dog Home Grooming, Medium, Yellow and it works wonderfuly to keep the hair mat free and looking great! We picked up the small version of this brush locally, the only complaint I have is the device that pulls back to release the hair is poorly made. I could just as easily pull the hair out with my fingers. I primarily got this brush because of the "soft" bristles for our puppy. Our next brush will be the Medium when she is older. Using both of these tools will keep your dogs hair mat free and keep them looking sharp! Brushing daily will keep your dog's hair in top shape and give them the training for the groomers as well as some one on one time with you! Don't fall for those pin brushes they don't work at all and are not recommended by groomers either.
