We have a small dog (sheepoo) and she just yaks and yaks as soon as she is let out the front door to do her business or to just sit on the front porch. It drives everybody crazy. We didn't want to use the zapper type collar becasue we thought that for a small dog it seemed mean (we actually tried our neighbours zapper collar) plus when I did some research on those collars, I didn't read many positive feedbacks. We tried the citronella collar and it has stopped her from barking when she is outside and it is just wonderful. I can't say that it has trained her because she will still do her barking frenzy if she realizes she's not wearing it but we are so happy that now we can let her out to do her business at midnight and she dosen't wake up the neighbourhood.

Citronella Spray Dog CollarOct 16, 2009

This product did not totally disappoint. It does what it says it will do. I think my pup just doesn't get it. After a few days, rather than stopping barking, she just got used to being sprayed in the face. Another thing I noticed is when the other dogs bark, she gets sprayed, but doesn't seem to mind.
If I have anything negative to say about the product it's simply that it took quite a while to get here - kinda slow, when you're excited to try something new and the pup keeps barking at the invisible critters in the back yard.

Good product with a weak collarOct 10, 2008
By M. Weaver The actual spray portion of the system is very good and effective with our 5 year old Lhasa Apso, however he was able to tear through the collar which we had to replace with a leather one. All in all a good product and well worth the packaged purchase .

I can hear theSep 17, 2011
By JKLineberry We have 3 dogs (kids). Our middle child will yap at anything and get his brothers started and basically drive mom and dad crazy. We tried the ultrasonic bark stoppers in the house to no avail.
I didn't try the "shock" anti-bar collars for 3 reasons:
1. I didn't like the idea of shocking my dog 2. My dog is a Pomeranian and there's no way to get skin contact through all that fur 3. My dog is 10 pound soaking wet and it's hard to get these types of collars to fit
This collar was wonderful. Of course we had to cut the collar in half to accommodate the smaller neck, but it still went on just fine.
Another good thing is that the collar only needs to sit near the throat, it does not require any skin contact. That makes it perfect for Poofy dogs like mine.
I personally like the smell of Citronella so that didn't bother me. My dogs however, did not like it, which is the point. I put the collar on our trouble making middle child and waited.
As soon as he started barking a little spritz of Citronella shot up in front of his face. Immediately he stopped barking and turned to run away from whatever invisible force had attempted to stop him. After a minute of cleaning his nose with his paw he was gone again. After a few trials he realized that the invisible force was following him everywhere so it was best just not to bark! YAY!!!!!!
It only took a couple of days wearing the collar during the day, but took it off for bedtime, for his barking to be drastically improved. Now it's about a year later and I only use it occasionally if he starts to revert to his bark at anything days.
Getting the instigator under control has brought peace to our household and save us a lot of frustration and money on aspirin :-)
It took us 4 years to find something that worked for our particular dog, so don't give up. Dogs are like people and different ones respond to different things.

Safe and Humane Anti-Bark SolutionFeb 12, 2011
By Maureen L. Buck My three dogs love to bark to play, alert for anything strange and any number of things. My first goal is to train them to bark for alert and do their best to distinguish other events. When that fails, on goes the citronella anti-bark collar. They immediately become silent. With one of my dogs, I do not need to turn the collar on, he just stays quiet. I have been using this product for years and highly recommend it to friends and strangers.
