Great Product, Although Not Our Dog's FavoriteSep 30, 2004
By M. Allen Greenbaum Sadie, the Wonder Dog, our (approximately) seven year-old golden retriever was not especially fond of these (although like all dogs that I know, she loves to chew). We surmised it might be the plastic-like texture. (Sadie's not generally very choosy about what she puts in her mouth, she'll eat tofu, broccoli, eggs, bok choy--almost anything.)
This is a very good product, and is recommended in many of the books we've read however, if this is your dog's first time with the Nylabone, you might want to try one out before ordering a lot of them. If this isn't the one for your dog, talk to your vet about alternative chews similar to the Nylabon: They're safer than the real thing, and are very good for your dog's dental health.

By M. Hodson My dog has super powers or this is not a very sturdy product. I don't have rotts or dobies or pittbulls, I have a 50 pound golden retreiver that broke this in half within 10 minutes of chewing on it. Although he did seem to enjoy it before it broke.

Don't waste your moneyNov 22, 2010
By Bourbon My 10 lb. min pin shredded this thing in under an hour. This is of terrible quality and breaks into small pieces the dog will swallow.

Not very durableJul 24, 2010
By xenofan My adopted one year old dachshund/maltese mix is a real chewer. After she chewed her way through the corner of the table, a pillow, the credit card bill, an amazon packing box, and much more, I figured it was time to stock up on safer chew toys.
I selected a number of products (many of them produced by Nylabone) and this proved to be the worst of those I purchased. My little dog was so happy when I gave it to her to chew, but within less than 10 minutes, she had chewed off large chunks of this toy and left them strewn all over the carpet. Nylabone recommend that a dog can safely ingest fragments of this product so long as they are no bigger than a grain of rice, but those that my dog chewed off were about the size of a fingernail. I was worried that she might become sick if she were to swallow any of these large pieces, so I took the product off of her and threw it away. My dog much prefers the Nylabone dinosaur shaped bones. They are extremely sturdy and have withstood her vigorous chewing for over two weeks now.

Beware of this product--one of our dogs died.Dec 21, 2009
By Shelley Shelley You should monitor your dog very carefully if you give him/her these chews. One of our dogs died as a result of eating these chews, and the other three were very ill for two days. This product is very difficult for dogs to digest and can result in blocked intestines and infection. Since the package did not contain any warnings, we thought they were harmless. Be very careful if you buy these for your dog.
