Our Puppy's Favorite!Jul 31, 2010 So far this is the one she spends the most time with. She loves to chew and because we provide her wit things to chew she has not yet chewed up the house.
Not very durableJul 24, 2010 My adopted one year old dachshund/maltese mix is a real chewer. After she chewed her way through the corner of the table, a pillow, the credit card bill, an amazon packing box, and much more, I figured it was time to stock up on safer chew toys.
I selected a number of products (many of them produced by Nylabone) and this proved to be the worst of those I purchased. My little dog was so happy when I gave it to her to chew, but within less than 10 minutes, she had chewed off large chunks of this toy and left them strewn all over the carpet. Nylabone recommend that a dog can safely ingest fragments of this product so long as they are no bigger than a grain of rice, but those that my dog chewed off were about the size of a fingernail. I was worried that she might become sick if she were to swallow any of these large pieces, so I took the product off of her and threw it away. My dog much prefers the Nylabone dinosaur shaped bones. They are extremely sturdy and have withstood her vigorous chewing for over two weeks now.
Gracie's favorite Chew ToyJun 23, 2010 Gracie, our Boston Terrier, LOVES the Nylabone Dental Chew bone. She's a strong chewer and they get roughed up pretty quickly, but one easily lasts several weeks. They became hard to find in local pet stores so I tried to find a substitute. When I would bring the new chew toy home she would get so excited when I opened the package, and she would grab it and run away to play with/chew on. When she realized it wasn't a Nylabone Dental Chew she quickly tired of it and didn't go back to it. Now I just order Nylabone Dental Chew Bones from Amazon - Gracie's happy and I don't waste time and money. Extra bonus, they also help keep her teeth clean because of the nubs all over the bone.
Great ProductFeb 20, 2007 Our french bulldog Zoe loves these things. She likes the little plastic nubs and she'll chew them down until the ends are pretty much unrecognizable. Our vet is constantly amazed by the health of her teeth and gums, so I would say these things work. The only downside is that they don't last very long for aggressive chewers, and occasionally you have to rinse them off as slobber and the like will get in between the nubs and get it kind of gross.

Great Product, Although Not Our Dog's FavoriteSep 30, 2004 Sadie, the Wonder Dog, our (approximately) seven year-old golden retriever was not especially fond of these (although like all dogs that I know, she loves to chew). We surmised it might be the plastic-like texture. (Sadie's not generally very choosy about what she puts in her mouth, she'll eat tofu, broccoli, eggs, bok choy--almost anything.)
This is a very good product, and is recommended in many of the books we've read however, if this is your dog's first time with the Nylabone, you might want to try one out before ordering a lot of them. If this isn't the one for your dog, talk to your vet about alternative chews similar to the Nylabon: They're safer than the real thing, and are very good for your dog's dental health.
