Only food my rabbit would eat!Aug 12, 2011
By Yak and Dak I have a Netherland Dwarf rabbit. She had been eating timothy pellets since she was 8 weeks old, when all of a sudden she stopped eating her pellets when she was about 2 years old. A trip to the vet found nothing physically wrong with her (her teeth and stomach were okay). But the vet said she needed to eat pellets or she would not get the right amount of vitamins and nutrients that she would need. So I went out and bought every brand and kind of timothy pellets that the pet stores carried. I literally bought 10 different brands and varieties. She would not even go near any of the 10 bags. Things were not looking good. Then on a whim, I bought a bag of these Oxbow BeneTerra Organic food. I didn't have any hopes for it though and when I first opened the bag, it had a strong odor (probably from the herbs). I sighed and thought "there is no way she is going to want these, they smell too strong." But to my shock and delight, she started eating them heartily! She has been eating only the BeneTerra pellets ever since. I can't thank Oxbow enough for coming out with a wonderful (and healthy) product. It literally saved my rabbit's life! I also like the fact that it does NOT contain alfalfa (which is fattening and not so great for an adult rabbit to eat). This happened a year ago and Thumbelina is over 3 years old now and doing great, and loving her BeneTerra pellets every day! :-)

I was very grateful to find this organic rabbit food for my bunny. I have a 1 year old lionhead bunny and he is extremely sensitive to toxins and chemicals that are in foods. The only fresh food he will eat are organic peeled apples and timothy hay so I knew I would have to find an organic rabbit food and this was the only one I could find. I was hoping to find something wheat and soy free but so far haven't seen that. My bunny likes this food and is doing much better now.
