I personally have 3 chinchillas and each one is slightly differant in their nutritional needs. We have a growing baby, and underweight youngster, and a fat little one between the two. On this food all of the girls got to their ideal weights, the rescue gained a substantial ammount of weight and went from 400g to 550g on this food and our fatty lost 50g. Another note is that all of the girls coats came in beutifully after we put them on this feed. I have never seen them so glossy and healty looking.

Based on my browsing on forums, Oxbow seems to be the brand that provides healthier chinchilla food than most of the alternative. They check out as a good choice in several ways:
- Unlike many other Chinchilla food brands, Oxbow specializes in small and exotic pet food and supplies (a sign that it's their primary business and they'll pay the most attention to quality and safety)
- The food does not contain colorful, sugary bits like some of the other chinchilla foods that are out there
- Their fur looks shinier and healthier
After trying a few of the different brands (initially stuff you'd find in pet stores, Matsuri, etc.) I've decided on this brand, and intent to keep purchasing food from here in the future.

Apparently its delicious! My chins are very healthy on this diet. Their droppings are healthier looking and their coats are gorgeous! I highly recommend Oxbow over the cheap store brands that are full of fillers and who knows what else. This food has no extras ; no raisins, crunchies or seeds to distract your chinchilla from the stuff they actually need.
