Over the years I have routinely wasted money on "cat toys" that did nothing but seem to bore my cats. FINALLY I have found a toy that my 3 kitties will play with for hours! All of my cats, even my "senior" cat, will chase this mouse until they are (or I am) exhausted. I think the "difference" is the realistic mouse sound that the toy emits when it is pounced upon. Additionally, this toy doesn't contain "catnip" - so it is not messy and it doesn't make the cats act stupid or drugged. It is just good-old-fashioned prey-chasing exercise! As an added bonus it is made in Ohio, USA - so its components are more "trustworthy" than some of the toxic products that have been imported from China. I plan on purchasing these as gifts for all of my cat-loving friends!

While the mouse came off rather quickly, my cat still loves to play with the string and the leaf at the tip (he's chewing on it right now). He loves the string so much that he's chewed most of it off, but still loves to play with it. I have a few other string toys like this, but this is by far his favorite. He even still plays with the detached mouse, sometimes.
The reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is simply because the mouse came off so easily and soon and since the pole has to be pieced together, it tends to break more easily. I still love the toy for my cat and am purchasing another one to replace the one I have.

We weren't able to put the handle together. It came in several pieces that need to be attached, but the pieces didn't interlock as intended. We couldn't get one section to connect, and had to leave it off. The rest of the handle is unstable, so we just play with the mouse only. The kitties enjoy the mouse.

This is a new version of a toy we've had for several years. It has been our 2 cat's favorite toy. When our old one recently broke (the mouse came unhooked from the string after a couple years of tugging by our CatFish) I found this new model that is even better (new color, wand, mouse) than the old one.

This purchase was such a disappointment. It was advertised as 'new' and it was not a new item. Yes, it was in new packaging, however, there was no 'pull tab' to activate the squeaker. I have purchased these in the past and they all had the 'pull tab'. When I opened this item and used it, it was very obvious it had been used before because the squeak is faint and does not work all the time.
