Overall, good product, cats love itFeb 11, 2010

This is the third Petmate Deluxe Fresh Flow Pet Fountain I have used for 3 cats. This product is not as sturdy as previous models, and cats can pull it a few inches into center of room when drinking. It is easier to clean than previous models, but feel it may not last as long. I clean the whole thing at least weekly, sometimes bi-weekly and add water every other day. The first thing to go is the pump with the last two. I clean the hair and grit out of the pump weekly, taking the whole pump apart. The pumps 'died' after about 1 and 1/2 years with previous models; the cord had exposed wires on the back of the pump when they quit working. Overall, the cats definitely drink more water with the fountain, so I keep replacing when the pumps quit working. The pump is expensive to replace and a whole new fountain is close in price to a replacement pump.

Great product, cats love it!!Jul 18, 2010
By Sashal17 My cats love this product; they drink more water now with it. Product makes a little of noise, like any water bomb. Same noise as the aquarium, not big deal. The most important for me is that my cats loved it and they are happier and healthier so that make this product great for me.

Kitty Wants MoreNov 27, 2010

My cat would rather drink from the decorative coffee table fountain than from this pet-specific circulating water bowl. This filtered bowl circulates constantly without making that distracting trickle noise, wide enough for her to stick her face in and slurp however she'd like, yet she still prefers the fountain that pumps enough water for her to feel the flow on her tongue. Believe me, I've tried to change her mind.
This dish assembles fairly easily, though be thorough reading the instructions, which are vague. The charcoal filter doubles up, so the water comes down the spout very, very clean, which I appreciate, since my city puts chemicals in the tap water. And since the pump deposits the water on a slide rather than letting it fly, the water circulates silently, and you can run it overnight without that frustrating racket.
But my kitty likes cold running water from the tap, and this small pump has too gentle a flow for her discriminating tastes. Perhaps kitties who need mild encouragement to drink more water might like this bowl, but if your cat wants more, it'll find this bowl disappointing. I trust water from this filtered bowl more than water from the tap, but I just can't convince her to drink it.

Okay little water fountainJul 16, 2011
By Jan I bought this for one of our three cats that is constantly jumping up at the sink for fresh water. He likes sticking his face directly in the stream. We were constanly leaving the water on for him and forgetting to turn it off (a few times overnight...yikes!)so when our water bills got out of control I decided to give this a try. The Fresh Flow was easy to assemble and is easy to clean. The pump is quiet when the water is at the proper levels. The only drawback is that the pump flow is not adjustable. The stream is smooth, low gurgle which is fine for most cats but my "sink cat" actually likes getting hit in the face with the water(weird, I know) and the flow isn't strong enough for that. He prefers the fresh flow to a standard water bowl and he's not bugging us at the sink as often and my other two cats will use it as well.

Cats like it, I don'tMay 03, 2010

The plastic has a strong smell and it is difficult to keep the slope part in the correct position. My cats drink from it and I like the overall concept but not the actual item. The Petmate Deluxe is much better and the Cat Mate is better than both of them.
