By KLL I have peacock cichlids, which do love algae but the light is not quite strong enough to turn algae green, instead it stays brown...started adding more oxygen to see if it would turn green...but not working...most people will see this as a benefit and probably my initial thought was to slow the algae growth...so I bought this light. My fish like the algae and I am going for a little more natural look so... I may need to step up and buy a stronger light that is good for plants too. This is an excellent light and came to my house quickly and all in one piece which is an accomplishment all on its own.
