Fantastic Cage!Jan 10, 2010
By L. Smith
"Amanda"
This cage is fantastic we use it for our four chinchillas. It provides ample space for all four chinchillas and they can comfortably jump around with out angering each other or knocking anything over. The cage is big 4 layers (five if you count the bottom). The bottom shelf has very fine wiring so their delicate feet don't get caught in-between it. It also has a very large under cage pull-out litter pan (much like that of a bird cage). The doors to the cage have a lock where you have to squeek them both and pull the door to open it, which keeps my clever critters from opening the door on their own. The cage is very sturdy and looks beautiful in the home not to mention it fits neatly in the corner without looking small or damaging our walls.
The only reason I gave it a four instead of a five is because of the assembly. It is difficult to put together, not because of the design, but because of the instructions. They only provide a picture which does not prevent you from accidentally putting pieces on upside-down (which myself and my fiance did a few times).
All in all its a fantastic cage as long as you don't get too frustrated during the assembly period.

Great chinchilla home!Dec 27, 2011
By Ayla M. Amon I bought this cage after getting my chinchilla a year ago and he loves it! It provides plenty of space for him to run around and for me to put toys, food, and his running wheel into the cage. The pull out pan on the bottom also makes cleaning easy, and the wheels on the bottom make it easy to move. Assembly was slightly difficult (I assembled it by myself and it took me about half an hour), mostly because the pictures aren't clear as to which direction the pieces go (you end up putting things in backwards easily). If you need a good looking cage that fits into a small space and gives your pet plenty of room to run, this is a great one. Just beware that if you're moving and would like to take it apart, it's a pain.

good cageApr 30, 2011
By Chin nice cage for chins. 2 of my chins are in this cage and it gives them lots of room to jump and play. i could easily get 1 more chin in it. it is chinchilla friendly and they seem very happy in it. i have a ferret nation as well and i like this one just as much as the ferret nation. if space is an issue go with this cage. it's very well built and you won't be disappointed.

A great home for chinchillas =)Oct 07, 2010
By A Joe After getting 3 chinchillas a couple weeks ago, I was in the market for a more functional and nicer looking home for them. I love how this cage fits nicely in a corner and has the pull out litter pan. The color of the cage is charcoal gray, it's not a tacky looking gray either. Completely assembled, the cage is about 5 1/2 feet high. It does have about 18 inches of storage space at the bottom, so the cage itself it probably closer to 4 feet high. Assembly was fairly easy, I put the cage together on my own, in about 35 minutes. It gives my 3 chinchillas plenty of room to hop around. I use the bottom storage space for their food and treats. The wheels and the cage are very sturdy. The cage is a bit noisy when my chins run around in it, but at least they seem to enjoy it. I put a hammock between the first and second levels for their safety. If one of them falls, I don't want them to get hurt by falling from the top level to the floor. The cage is easy to move around if needed.
I have nothing but great things to say about the cage itself, but I had to give my review 4 stars because of the damages that occurred during its shipment. It's nothing major, the box arrived at my front door with holes up to 14 inches long. I opened the box and inventoried everything inside to make sure nothing fell out during shipment, everything was there. I inspected every piece for damages. There were 15 bent bars on the front piece of the cage and one bar was broken. I was able to bend the bars back into shape and the broken bar was covered up by a ledge. I didn't send it back to the manufacturer because I liked the cage. Although it was damaged, the damage was minimal.
Beautiful cageApr 18, 2012
By AAV My husband picked out this cage when I moved into his condo last year as a way of keeping the rats in our living area but not having an ugly cage to stare at. It's quite beautiful and my 2 rats love it! I took out the ramps leading up to each shelf (rats prefer to climb walls not walk up ramps) and hung up baskets and boxes and hammocks instead. I also zip-tied 2 "Wodent Wheels" on 2 of the shelves and they go nuts for those as well. As some of the other reviewers mentioned, it's a pain to put together - the parts fit multiple ways so you think you've set it up right and then suddenly you've got screw holes where there aren't supposed to be any and no screw holes were you need them, so you have to take the whole thing apart and start over. After we got past that hurdle, it's been great. I took out the bottom screening and just filled the bottom slide-out pan with shavings (not good for their little feet to stand on the mesh grating, and also keeps the cage cleaner by having shavings at the bottom instead of a dirty grate). I'd definitely buy this cage again if I needed another. I love that it fits in a corner. And the wheels allow for easy rolling so I can vacuum under the cage.
