I have a cocker spaniel with lots of food allergies and a thyroid condition. The vet recommended these treats for her and she seems to like them. I've never had her refuse one. We've also had no skin breakouts resulting from the treats.

The main ingredients of this product may be corn, but that's great for dogs who have meat allergies. This HA diet treat and the food is for dogs with severe meat allergies. My dog enjoys them and there are not any other dog treats that have absolutely no type of protein in them. If your dog is allergic to protein, and you have a hard time finding food and treats that they can eat, then this is the right product!
My vet actually put my dog on this food and treat diet and monitored him for 3 months. His skin rashes disappeared and he is much healthier. THIS TREAT IS NOT FOR PET OWNERS WHO ARE JUST MESSING AROUND WITH TRIAL DIETS FOR THEIR PETS. This was prescribed for my dog, by the vet, after a trial period. I enjoy ordering this online because it's the only place I have found this treat without special ordering it from the vet.

Milk Bones make the Westie throw up even though our beagles have been eating them without problems for years. The vet put the Westie on Gentle Snackers and that stopped the problem. Occasionally, one of the kids will slip the Westie a Milk Bone, and, a short time later, here it comes. I'm sure that there's a scientific explanation, but the Gentle Snackers are working for the Westie.

Excellent for my Dog!May 05, 2009

My dog recently had a very bad case of pancreatitis. This is the only snack that she is allowed to eat any more, and she just loves them. They are gentle on her stomach. I know some people have shown concern here about ingredients, but my vet would not allow my dog to eat ANYTHING that is bad for her after what had happened to her.

Was pleased to find these online - the order was shipped quickly. I was so glad to find that Purina HA had a snack item in the line - my dog has been on the HA diet for a few months now and doing wonderfully - no more licking and scratching. He likes the treats, so that is a plus!
