Nice concept, but bad designDec 07, 2009

If used with one feed arm only, it does not work: The play on the shaft between the feed arm and retaining clip is too much, the arm gets caught UNDER the feed dial and keeps turning and emptying all food within one day. Flake food does not work with this feeder: The shute is too long and ( maybe ) has a wrong downward angle. The flakes do not slide down freely, resultingin accumalation of stuck flakes that will stop the feeding process.
The order was promptly processed and shipment was on time. However the item was sent back to petstore, because it showed that it had been used before. Second order was the same: it looks like it was used by someone before me. The feed dial cover has a crack in it, the knob-spring is missing but instead I got what appears to be a plastic item from a kid's toy set. It would be great if I could receive a new feed dial cover and the missing knob spring. Gunter Reiche
Easy Fish FeederDec 12, 2011
By Judy Pierce I purchased this item to replace the same one I had for about 8 years and whose motor stopped working. I liked the original one and my aquarium was set up for it. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because I thought I was purchasing the one pictured - and in fact, paid a little more for that one. The one that I received was probably an updated one that does not fit in the aquarium as easily and required some fanagaling(pieces of cardboard under the support legs)to get the feeder to stay at the proper angle for the food to fall out.I specifically did not want that feature. I made it work, so wasn't worth sending back. You can set it up for multiple feedings in the day. We set ours up for one, because previously, the multiple arms did not work well. Depending on the number of fish, I'll manually feed to supplement the automatic, but if we are gone for a few days, the automatic feeder will provide enough food for the little monsters. I would buy again.
Didn't work for meMay 31, 2011
By Jamie First off, the feeder was not rotating the dial at all like it said it would and it felt like it was over heating cause the base would get really hot. Second, the pellets and flake food I use would slip through the grooves and would spill into the center of the hopper and outside onto the floor. This product did not fulfill it's purpose to feed my fish, only just made a mess.
