This filter is used for a submergeable pump for a water fountain and works quite well. It's only disadvantage is that the animals climb into the water and tear the filter apart. It would be improved with a screen over the unit.

Does the job. If it were larger (more surface area)and a little more rigid, the time between cleaning could be lengthened considerably. Not too bad though. In our pond, we get about 2 weeks or more in the summer, an easy month in the cool weather.
