Good alternative to topical treatmentsAug 22, 2009

We use Frontline to kill and prevent fleas on our pets but we adopted a pregnant cat and did not want to use chemicals on her. Instead we used this flea comb to remove her fleas. It worked fine, she didn't mind the combing and the flea would be stuck in the comb long enough for me to dip it into a bowl of water mixed with organic soap. You must do this repeatedly over time as the eggs are not removed and will hatch. When the kittens came, we used the comb to remove any fleas that had survived and found there way onto them. The comb was easy to use and comfortable to hold, seems well designed. Fleas are fast and it can be a challenge to catch them with the comb, and sometimes they jump off before you can get them into the soap bowl, so keep the bowl close to the cat. None of the cats have long hair, just short to medium, so I can only comment on that fur type. I can see it being useful later, too. Even on meds, fleas can hop a ride on your dogs legs and make it into your home, so this is a good thing to have in your pet grooming tool bag.

No one likes fleas, especially not pets. This comb worked great for our two cats that were having some flea issues this past winter. When they had fleas, it got all the fleas that were in the area we combed, and we now use it to help us see if there is any flea 'dirt' next to the skin that we cannot readily see. Our cats have different coat textures, one being a Manx and the other a Domestic Shorthair and the comb was excellent in both of their coats.

Flea Comb for KittenJul 30, 2009
By Teddie Ann Reilly I ordered this as I had just gotten a new kitten that had a flea problem. This is great for checking her and it is also gentle to her tender skin. She loves being combed with it, just purrs and purrs.

Great price & productsApr 13, 2010
By Carissa Longo I've been looking for a strong flea comb that would go through a Maine Coon cat's fur, and I found it in this product. The handle is strong, and the teeth are firmly attached. Great product at a great price!

Excellent!Jan 13, 2010
By R The tips of the teeth are rounded and very gentle; my cat enjoys being combed with it. I was a shocked by the sheer number of fleas this comb extricated from my (seemingly healthy) cat!
