5Really works!Aug 20, 2010
By Lisa Adams
This flea comb far surpassed my expectations. After battling fleas for a couple of weeks, I had resorted to hand-picking them because all the medications I tried were not working. It is SO hard to catch those things without this comb! My dog has extremely thick hair, so it was impossible for me to see the fleas unless they were on her stomach. The first swipe of this flea comb confirmed that it was working. The only downside of the comb is that it is very hard to see if you have caught anything in the teeth. By the time you get the comb close enough to see, the flea will usually have jumped back off. What I did was I got a cup of very hot water (so the fleas couldn't jump out of it) and then did one run of the comb through my dog's hair and immediately put the comb in the cup and swirled it around. Now my dog is flea-free! The comb is also great for everyday use to keep thick hair from getting matted.

5Hands-down the best flea comb I've ever used!Dec 20, 2010
By Jill Bisbee
I don't typically write reviews but I thought this flea comb deserved one. I have six cats and when we get fleas, it can be a miserable chore to get rid of them. The handle is convenient, but the real gem is the double row of teeth. The fleas hide out in between the rows in between strokes instead of getting stuck in the teeth or worse yet, jumping off the comb. It also catches WAY more than a normal flea comb (and I have tried several.)

To get the best use out of the comb, have a bowl of warm soapy water, a cup of the same, a few paper-towels and a toothpick handy. After a few passes through your cat's fur, dip the comb into the bowl. Run the toothpick between the rows and drop the wet fur and fleas into the bowl. Then give the comb a quick swirl in the cup to clean it and wipe off the soapy water before your next few strokes. Repeat until you don't find anymore fleas.

Of course, combine this with copious amounts of vacuuming (put a flea collar in the bag) and your preferred method of flea treatment for the cats.

5Great Flea Comb For Long or Short Haired CatsNov 18, 2009
By Kathryn S. Leon
I have many cats. This comb sailed through their fur, both long and short haired. When I came across a fur knot, I just used the end of the comb to pull the hairs lose, then combed them out smooth. This comb catches twice the amount of loose hair. Also, this comb is sturdier because the body of it is thicker to handle two rows of teeth. You can't go wrong with this comb.

5This Comb works amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Nov 10, 2010
By Shimi
I have a long hair cat and I been having a flea problems.
I was hand picking a flea before purchasing this comb and the maximum number of flea I can capture is about 5 a day.
First day with this comb, I got about 50 fleas! and it's just works amazingly.
It'll catch everything in its path.
I didn't even know my cat had so many fleas...

Works very well with long hair cats.
Any cat hair on this comb actually helps trap flea between the two teeth and they cannot jump off from the comb easily.
If you have a long hair cat, I recommend brush your cat before using this comb.
I would use this comb before giving any medications to maximize the effect.
You can almost completely illuminate fleas on your cat with this comb if you keep using for a week.
It is very safe.
I would use "Program Green oral suspension" that kills flea eggs along with Novartis Capstar Flea Treatment Blue Tabs that kills adult flea to complete the treatment.

4thank goodness for flea combsNov 28, 2010
By BEVERLY JOY
my cat bella became infested with fleas, and we've been working on their extinction for a while now. powders sprays, lotions, nothing comes close to up close and personal. i would prefer a solid metal comb [had one years ago..worked great] as the ridge between the metal and plastic allows for some fleas to hide out and make it difficult to snap their little shells. sorry, sounds inhumane, but once you've been bit a dozen times by these miniature monsters, you, too, will appreciate their demise.

otherwise, its nearly perfect. and bella now comes to me, sits on my chest [while i'm lying down] and stares over at his comb. he really enjoys the combing and our special bonding time[actually smiles]. closer to his back-end is a rough area for him to have groomed, and he'll swat at the comb [sometimes sending fleas flying - on me!] but he is slowly growing used to even having his nether regions invaded, which is good, for i fear a hold-out population has taken up residence in this de-militarized zone, and as soon as i can wipe them out, we'll be flea free !
