Simple and EffectiveAug 06, 2011
By Robert Dearing Easy set up. No pump required. I assume it has been doing its job as my 120 FOWLR tank has been disease free, even with some somewhat delicate fish.

Should have got one sooner.May 25, 2011
By PcItalian These things really cut down on algae growth. I've got a 100g tank with a sump for freshwater (Sump was free tank half price $200 WOW) since i got it up and running I've had a lot of issues with algae growth, stuck this in my corner flow so its out of sight out of mind. Wow does it work well. Puts out a lot of water too. Just wish it was shallower so that it would fit in the sump (Clarified water after filters allows best performance).

Takes the floating algae outOct 22, 2010
By Debra Reinertson I really thought that this Submariner UV Sterilizer worked well. It was far too big for my 125 gallon tank. I wished it was smaller. I returned it because of its size. The quality was last year's model because it did not have a sponge filter it was some type of cloth. I had bought the sponge filter replacements, and this was another reason for its return.

Works well...for an unsatisfactory period of timeJul 04, 2011
By George W. Andrews I read the reviews on the this product by searching amazon and online. Price and size were right for my 90 gallon saltwater tank. Reviews were mixed....product seemed to work well but there were problems with leaks and the bulb lifetime. I was cautiously optimistic and purchased the item. Algae was gone in a couple of weeks! Way cool! Within 6 months, the tell tale light was no longer visible (and the return of algae) indicating the bulb was longer illuminated. I disassembled the unit and found water where it should not have been....the o-ring failed and basically the entire unit is trash.
IMHO, I got what I paid for....I will now be spending more money to get a better unit.
Save your money and buy a quality UV sterilizer.
