Our hamster loves this add on to her cage. She burrows and enjoys it very much. However, my daughter hates it and does not want to use it. It is very difficult to get to the hamster and get her out to play. I have actually seen her take off the green connector holes to bait her out. She does not want to use it at all. The hamster is quite sad when she gets back in her cage and finds that her burrow is no longer there. This cage is so easy to clean since it comes completely apart. Hope this helps.

I have two gerbils and as everyone knows gerbils are naturally burrowers. I noticed my boy Georgie vigorously digging in the corner of the cage and I felt sorry for him since he had hit plastic I bought him and his mate Sandy this burrow. They loved the material and figured out right away what it was. I made some adjustments to it though, i duck tapped the entire sides and back and then put a dark shirt over the front and then duck tapped the tunnel so now its completely dark and an actual burrow, they almost never come out. But without all the hard work I am sure they would love it anyways, recommended to gerbil owners

I purchased this to add on to a larger cage. It's actually much larger than I expected. I would not recommend using the burrowing material. The coconut fibers seemed to make my hamster itch and she didn't seem care for the paper either. After thowing the material away. I placed a little critter litter in the bottom and Carefresh bedding on the top and throughout the burrow. Our hamster likes to burrow at the bottom mostly but I place treats and sticks at the top to get her to move around in it a little more. She spends a lot of time in it so I am happy with my purchase. I disagree with another reviewer about it being hard to clean. It is very easy to clean if you take it apart. The top carrier comes off and the little green tabs on the side slide up and off to clean the inside. You fill it AFTER you put it back together. Just put everything in from the top. It doesn't need to be perfect because your hamster will move everything around the way they want it.

I bought this item for my daughter's mice. It is a perfect size for mice. They love to drag the bedding to the bottom and make nests under the bottom shelf. I attached a wheel to the end and now they spend more time in this than their regular cage. They love it!

This accessory is great for our long hair hamster. We wanted something that wasn't too big and would provide entertainment. We tried using lots of different burrowing materials, making it darker by covering it, but he never really got the hang of it or liked it. So i just put down some of it's bedding at the top and bottom and now he LOVES it. He runs up and down the little maze and is beginning to use the top as his second food storage place. It is extremely easy to clean as each piece can be taken apart and cleaned thoroughly. Our hamster has had no issues using this addition or it being to small. Would recommend this to any hamster owner.
